Exciting news: I'm releasing a podcast! Squaring the Wave was first born 5 years ago in response to an academic assignment from @royalacademyofmusic Since then I've experimented, explored, and even done a whole Masters project, but before we get to all that I'm throwing it back to that first episode, which will be releasing TOMORROW MORNING on Substack (link in bio) and shortly after everywhere else Not big on listening? No problem! A full transcript article will also be dropping tomorrow I'm so excited to finally share this project with you all! Episode 2 is already waiting in the wings, but beyond that the world is our oyster... See you back here in the morning 🌅🎧💙 by @meadowbrooksmusic

✨MEET THE MUSICIANS✨ Last but not least, introducing our percussionist, @meadowbrooksmusic ! Meadow Brooks is a versatile musician, with a career spanning many spheres of performance and education. She’s been awarded first class BMus(Honours) and an LRAM and Master of Music both with distinction. Continued professional development is something which she finds immensely valuable and joyful; to this end, she undertook a year long fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music, was a Britten Pears Young Artist 2025-26, and regularly attends courses and seminars to enrich her professional toolkit. Meadow’s musical development has been rooted in orchestral playing from the very beginning, and she now enjoys working broadly as a freelancer with organisations such as the London Contemporary Orchestra and Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra, as well her engagements as a member of the Paraorchestra. Working with vibrant organisations such as these has allowed her to explore working in ways which pushes the envelope of orchestral work - projects which challenge her own working and thus enriches her broader practice. Chamber music is a newer passion for Meadow, and one which has quickly secured its place in her professional practice. As well as her work with WhatKnot, Meadow is half of the Leonids Duo, a vibrant trumpet-percussion duo who are particularly interested in working collaboratively and are currently workshopping new music with early career composers and school-aged composition mentees. “Through my work with WhatKnot I’ve rekindled old friendships and forged new ones. I’ve been challenged to rethink the limits of what I can offer as a musician, educator, and citizen, all the while sharing the music I love with so many adults and young people alike. Working with WhatKnot encompasses the very best of what being a musician can look like.” When not behind a drum, you can find Meadow walking, wild swimming, and anywhere else that gets her out in nature. She loves to sew her own clothes and recently began learning to ferment at home! by @meadowbrooksmusic
Very excited to be looking for new collaborators! Please get in touch with any questions - we can’t wait to see what we can create together! 🌌 by @meadowbrooksmusic
