Howdy y’all! <3 As always, it is phenomenal to meet everyone who comes out to these events. I always come out with a HAUL of stickers and new friends. I tried to + will tag more people as I find em! - On a more personal note, these events and this community means a lot to me. I love spreading love through this, didn’t realize how much this means to so many, and want to share that I started this from a place of absolute loss. Last year, I had a major spine surgery, my partner of 3 years who I was living with ended our relationship to date a coworker, and my 19 year old cat, Meatball, had died — all within a month. Soon after, spiraling, I went to a @pmslaps award show and met a bunch of cool people (who i’m sure you know if you’re here) and now… im here! Meatball was a Philly street cat who fucking LOVED Philly. I first met her in South, at the height of covid, where a neighbor told me she was 14 and ‘never stayed put’. I bonded so much with her and then moved to west and later saw her running around 52nd and we were inseparable after that. she would be gone for days or more and just come back to sit in my lap on the porch, happy and full of love. after some time i moved again, then again, and ended up back in south where i didnt see Meatball for 2 years (despite having looked) before seeing her sunbathing in wharton square and having her follow me home. she was always around, i mean i would come out to smoke cigs at like 1am and she would come running down the street to keep me company, she was the best of friends. that was the routine for 2 years, before i moved in with my ex and moved to a different place in south. i didn’t ever see Meatball again, but before spine surgery i went looking for her at our old haunts and my last neighbor told me she recently found her passed by the steps of my old apartment (and had freaked the new tenant out), then i had spine surgery a week later, and 3 weeks after that my ex broke up with me. - SO, this is what I do now! I will love and support you like she would, and imma spread it everywhere I go, because… what else is there? Loves ya, and thanks if you made it this far <3 by @meatball.philly
a true friend and ally, meatball will track you down and cure your sadness and/or fight the local scabs, she does it all and she does it in the name of love. she is philly’s cat. feel free to text her for community resources, guidance, or backup 🫡 (424) 444-4356 by @meatball.philly
Howdy y’all! So tshirts were a success! i got nearly 200 shirt requests and for something ive never done before, that was so unexpected and awesome. if u havent gotten one yet, lmk and it will happen! — WASH INSIDE OUT, cold, and probably by itself. AND my first sticker pack! My sweet girl Meatball you know, but I’d like to introduce you to her posse; Smitten, Babycat, and MewBoo. This is the pack that I will be giving out on Tuesday @tmoms for return to sender on the 18th. Also, find me @stepoutsideshow tonight for the opening night of The Evolution of the Revolution, and you can score some stickers early! Seriously though, you should go to this anyway, it will be extremely special and a historic celebration of street art culture. Love you! by @meatball.philly
It’s been awhile but I’ve been working on a lot and here are some updates: - I started making ink! so far ive got a really pretty chrome that bleeds through multiple layers of coverup, a purple that needs some viscosity work but is literally impossible to remove, and a couple other secret ones. if you are interested in getting some lmk, this has been fun to play with! - i started a website to manage links and cat submissions for… - i’m trying to START A ZINE, i think. and the big thing so far is that i need you guys to submit your cats! so i can turn them into stickers/cards and feature them in the zine! pretty much everything else is going to be a surprise at launch. there will be a meatball anniversary/zine launch party (details tbd - stay tuned) link in bio for submissions - snake on a quansheng by @meatball.philly
