The DISHA , Jaintia Hills Cluster team conducted a home visit to collect a viral load sample from an antenatal care (ANC) client who was unable to travel to the health facility due to transportation difficulties and financial constraints.

Understanding the importance of timely testing and continuity of treatment, the team arranged a home-based sample collection and also dispensed ART medication for the client and her husband. Counselling was provided to both on the importance of treatment adherence and regular follow-ups.

The couple has been consistently adhering to their treatment, and the visit further reinforced the importance of continued care and support.
Through such community-based efforts, DISHA Clusters continues to make HIV services more accessible, ensuring that geographical, financial, and other barriers do not stand in the way of essential healthcare.

Meghalaya AIDS Control Society joined the celebrations of Shad Pomblang Syiem, Hima Khyrim, through piggybacking activities to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, encourage voluntary HIV testing, and promote the importance of knowing one's status.

By engaging with communities during important cultural gatherings, MACS continues to bring HIV awareness closer to the people, encouraging informed choices, early testing, and timely access to treatment.

Because HIV awareness is everyone's responsibility. Let's break the stigma, spread the facts, and work towards a healthier, more informed Meghalaya!
