David Marsden was truly one of a kind. A visionary, a storyteller and the architect of a sound that changed Canadian radio.

He gave DJs permission to take chances, listeners permission to be curious, and countless artists a place to be heard when few others would play them. His vision helped make CFNY something much bigger than a radio station. It became a community, a culture and, fittingly, The Spirit of Radio.

We were incredibly fortunate to have David share his stories, his humour and his unmistakable voice with us in CFNY: The Spirit of Radio.

Our hearts are with his family, friends, colleagues and the generations of listeners whose lives were made a little louder, stranger and more interesting because David Marsden was on the radio.

The Legend. The Marsbar. The Spirit of Radio.

Rest well, David. 💜 by @melissadags

Does your relationship to a fictional character evolve when you rewatch a show/film at an older age? Or are you stuck in a relationship with that character based on the age you were when you first watched it?!? 👶🏼👩🏻‍💼👵🏻#AllyMcBeal #Nostalgia #TVSeries #90s #eldermillenial by @melissadags

PART FIVE of my #TIFF Market takeaways - now is the time for guts and guile, friends! For community building and revolutionary thinking in terms of financing, production, release, marketing - the whole ball of wax. Because so many of these structures are teetering on the brink of collapse - the old Hollywood models (the ones that remain, that is) aren’t working for most of us, and they were never really designed to. What matters is what we can build, make, sustain ourselves. And the art that gets to be shared. #FilmFinancing #FilmSales #IndieFilm #CanadianFilm 🎬💰👊🏼 by @melissadags
