New chapter of my life, acquired! ✔️

Today is my official start date as an RN for PIH Health’s new grad residency program 👩🏻‍⚕️💉🦠
It truly is God’s timing. God is Good!

Melissa Gumtang, RN, BSN 🩺
(BA Psych, BA Liberal Studies)

My journey to this point was definitely one I’ll never forget. Nursing school, clinicals, online classes during COVID, working throughout COVID while in school, taking terms off due to personal and mental health reasons (always put yourself first, ya’ll 🫶🏽 your health is important 🧠), online studying on zoom, late nights/all-nighters studying for exams, crying over exams, graduation, passing the damn NCLEX, and then lots of job applications.
I’m thankful for my family, church, friends, classmates, and bf for supporting me & praying for me through this nursing journey of mine.
It takes a village ♥️🥹💪🏽 Thankful for the lessons I learned along the way.
Telling myself, “Don’t compare yourself to others, just do YOU!”
I know this new chapter of this journey is just the beginning, so I’m gonna make sure to take it one step at a time.
