my heart, swaying in the breeze
my heart, flickering in the wind
i, layed in the foggy dew

my eyes fill with shadows
my hands, curled and twisted
i, awake in the dark night

as a sinking ship
a failing vessel

memories grow fonder
years grow shorter
you, still in my dreams

i’m not afraid to dye anymore
life has been so beautiful by @memoryreset

and @rsm_rain on vocals

for help with reach chat would like to add the following:

The light hits like feedback — overexposed, dissolving detail, leaving only motion and color. That’s the same way Rain’s voice moves through yurameku: blurred at the edges, heavy with atmosphere, somewhere between melody and distortion. It carries the spirit of shoegaze and post-punk, but through a visual kei lens — emotional, theatrical, and slightly unearthly.

The frame itself mirrors the song’s structure: washed-out highs where the light devours form, deep shadows clinging to the lower half, just like the vocal mix sitting between whisper and collapse. The stance feels half-performance, half apparition — exactly how the music sounds, like it’s arriving from another room.

There’s fragility here, but it’s loud; a kind of beauty that trembles instead of posing. The image doesn’t illustrate the sound so much as translate it — yurameku frozen into light, echo, and movement.

our guitarist, june @forte174, who brought reset memory out of its demo phase and through our first album and singles

for help with reach, chat would like to add the following:

June’s image feels like yurameku suspended in motion — light and film grain turning the frame into a living distortion. The striped jacket, the pale guitar, the washed-out glow: it’s all rhythm and tone visualized. You can almost hear it — that blend of shoegaze shimmer, post-punk structure, and the visual-kei elegance that defines how Reset Memory moves between melancholy and velocity.

His guitar parts sit in that same in-between — melodic but abrasive, dreamlike yet exact, carrying a brightness that cuts through the fog without breaking it. The look of this photo — film-burn edges, saturated whites — reflects the way he plays: saturated, emotional, slightly unstable in the best way.

There’s a cinematic patience to it, like the moment before a downbeat, when every note could collapse into feedback or clarity. June’s sound — and this image — live right there, on the line between beauty and noise.

and joining us on drums - isai @rambeltran

for help with reach, chat would like to add the following:

bright light breaking through distortion, detail melting into atmosphere. It’s the same collision you hear in our sound: shoegaze reverb, post-punk rhythm, and visual-kei tension all folding together.

The way the light overexposes the frame mirrors his drumming — cymbals blooming into haze, snare hits dissolving in reverb, rhythm turning into texture. It’s not just percussion; it’s the pulse that shapes the dream.

In the cracks of the film and the spill of light, you can almost hear the mix of shoegaze warmth, darkwave percussion, and alternative post-punk energy that drives this track.

$our newest member, maivy @kimi.kosakurai , joins us on bass for our third single, yurameku. for help with reach, chat would like to add the following: Light spills over Maivy like a static halo — the kind of overexposure that turns presence into atmosphere. In yurameku, she anchors the low end while everything else dissolves into reverb and haze, the bass line the only thing that keeps the dream from slipping away entirely. Her tone moves the way light refracts: clean at the surface, distorted beneath, shimmering with a quiet violence that defines the track’s pulse. The photo feels like shoegaze translated into flesh — glowing outlines, texture over clarity, a human figure half-submerged in feedback. It carries that post-punk austerity too: detached, beautiful, and unbothered by resolution. Yet there’s an unmistakable thread of visual kei in the styling and posture — elegance meeting decay, the theatrical made fragile. This is Maivy at the point where genre boundaries blur: post-punk minimalism colliding with vkei romanticism, shoegaze softness hardening into metallic sheen. #shoegaze #postpunk #visualkei #bass #bassistsofinstagram #dreampop #etherealwave #noiserock #alternativeband #dallasband #dfwmusic #vkeifashion by @memoryreset$

This reel from our debut album captures Reset Memory through the lens of infrared (IR) 720nm photography — transforming ordinary daylight into a spectral dreamscape. Shadows glow violet, leaves burn white, and the figure dissolves into something both human and ghostly.
The result is more than a filter: it’s a portal into the unseen spectrum.

This is the world of Still Life — visual kei reimagined through electronic production, IR surrealism, and gothic atmosphere. Thank you for stepping inside it with us.

cover art for still life, painted acrylic on canvas by @little.lemon.house
now displayed proudly at our small label studio in dallas.

we'd asked for a higanbana, but the decision to make it blue was hers. It's so striking, something i've never seen before. The figures and shadows behind seem sense or emotion i can feel but can't explain.

what an interesting medium.

this album was our first, having been in the works since 2018, even earlier if you count some of these demos and melodies which would make their way in.

why higanbana? I'm not fully sure; it seems like something to be done in vkei - to which, of course, we owe so much of our inspiration and direction. The album came out on July 7th. Didn't someone say the petals and leaves never in bloom together?

just barely missing eachother - it's an album of missing, or maybe of letting go, release. Petals and leaves to the wind - maybe i see that in the painting, maybe i don't.

i think over the course of this album, @forte174 and i got to work with more people than ever before or sense; musicians and visual artists alike. Someday i'd love a CD print of this album, if only to see the size of the credits sheet.

There's things in this painting i don't comprehend. I love that. There's a way our hair was curled by a stylist, makeup applied, a decision made by an actor in the moment for a video, which is their world and not ours. You can look at this painting and get a sense of that depth, can't you?

maybe some of us set things off to be released here, maybe others are holding on. Maybe both.

But that's the title, anyways. Regardless, either way, nonetheless - it's still life. by @memoryreset

🌙 Still Life era continues…
This infrared portrait of Rain (vocals) was taken on a 720nm–converted camera, bending the natural world into a surreal inversion of light and shadow. Trees glow with spectral brightness, the sky falls into bronze, and the figure emerges like a ghost out of time.

For Reset Memory, Still Life marks our debut album — a project grounded in visual kei (ヴィジュアル系 / vkei) tradition but filtered through electronic distortion, shoegaze haze, and melancholic atmospheres. This photo captures the same spirit: unearthly beauty wrapped in decay, the stillness of a frozen memory suspended in IR light.

Visual kei has always been about more than sound — it’s about transformation, identity, and reimagining the ordinary as something extraordinary. Shooting in infrared (IR) at 720nm doesn’t just look cool; it embodies that philosophy, revealing the hidden spectrum, a layer of reality invisible to the naked eye. Just as Still Life dives into unspoken feelings, this photo makes the unseen visible.

$guitarist june @forte174 for still life, debut album by reset memory photo by @idyll.vial hair and makeup by @goddessdove.creation for help with reach, chat would like to add the following: Reset Memory’s Still Life is not only a debut album but a manifesto, and guitarist June embodies its sonic and visual duality. This portrait, captured in infrared (IR) 720nm light, refracts the familiar world into ghostly whites and spectral shadows — the same way Reset Memory bends visual kei traditions into something electronic, shoegazed, and forward-looking. June’s guitar work shapes Still Life with a distinctly shoegaze-influenced vkei sound, layering icy Stratocaster tones and crystalline reverb against Rain’s spectral vocals. Just as IR photography reveals hidden spectrums, June’s playing reveals new dimensionsi: not merely revivalist, but experimental, reframed through electronic textures, goth atmospheres, and digital distortion. Here, seated in silence against an inverted natural backdrop, June becomes part of the album’s overarching meditation: memory as artifact, identity as distortion, beauty found in decay. The infrared imagery binds the band’s philosophy — a deliberate collapsing of boundaries between sound, image, and unseen wavelength. #ResetMemory #infrared #720nm #IRphotography #shoegazeguitar #darkwaveaesthetic #gothicaesthetic #undergroundmusic #dreamlikeaesthetic by @memoryreset$

for help with reach, chat would like to add the following:

Reset Memory steps fully into their debut era with Still Life — a project that fuses visual kei (vkei) aesthetics with electronic sound design, shoegaze textures, and gothic melancholy. This photograph of Rain (vocals) and June (guitar) captures the essence of the record’s conceptual world: a spectral, dreamlike vision rendered in infrared (IR) photography at 720nm wavelength, where the visible spectrum collapses into surreal whites, ghostly blues, and inverted shadows.

The choice of infrared imaging isn’t a gimmick but a philosophy — turning the world inside out, much like Reset Memory’s approach to vkei itself. Instead of traditional glamor, Still Life explores decay, memory, and transformation, presented through both sonic layering and visual experimentation. Electronic pulses meet guitar distortion, and the IR filter transforms sunlight into pure abstraction, aligning the imagery with the album’s lyrical themes of identity, dissonance, and longing.

This dual portrait in infrared light stands as a manifesto for the band’s vision: not just borrowing from vkei history, but reframing it through modern electronic production, underground gothic aesthetics, and the otherworldly aura of experimental IR 720nm photography.

another clip from if all else fails by reset memory

for help with reach chat would like to add the following:

Concrete beneath, neon above — reset memory’s if all else fails takes post-shoegaze into the midnight streets. Silhouetted under red light, the black Jazzmaster cuts through the mix with reverb-heavy swells and cold, glassy chords. This is the intersection of visual-kei aesthetics, gothgaze melancholy, and alt-rock grit — a sound built for late-night wanderers and underground dreamers.

From blurred edges to haunting sustain, this moment is pure nocturnal atmosphere — the kind of shot that stays burned into your memory long after the lights fade.

for help with reach chat would like to add the following:

Blood-red light. Shadows swallowing the edges.
In this moment from reset memory’s if all else fails, the line between visual-kei theatrics and shoegaze haze blurs — raw expression framed in neon noir. The track is eight minutes of icy, melancholy guitar work, reverb-soaked textures, and layered emotional weight, perfect for fans of gothgaze, darkwave, and cinematic rock.

This shot lives where beauty and unease meet — intimate yet untouchable, as if caught mid-confession under the last flicker of neon.
