Been sitting on this one for a minute. 😅

I knew we were going to talk parenting… I just didn’t expect the conversation to go where it did.

So much honesty, so much unlearning, so many “wait, actually…” moments.

A few snippets for now. Full conversation drops soon. 👀🎙️

The grace to witness moments like this. 🥹❤️

On Thursday, my first baby was inducted as Head Boy, and my littlest one as Year 1 SRC representative. Both on the same day! 🥹

Behind these moments are years of learning, growing, correcting, encouraging, praying and trusting God with the people our children are becoming.

Motherhood! The good days, the difficult days, the days I wonder if I’m getting anything right. And then days like this happen, and I’m reminded of what a privilege it is to be their mum and watch them grow.

And having my mum there to witness it all? That made it even more special. ❤️

I’m thankful for the journey, for the people they’re becoming, and most of all, for the grace to be here to witness moments like this.

I’m truly grateful. Thank You, Jesus! ❤️ by @mena_berrie

Such an honour to be invited as a panelist at Greenpath Preparatory School’s @greenpathprepschool International Day of the Girl Child celebration. 💗

We spoke about identity, confidence, finding your voice, knowing your worth, setting boundaries, courage, and the women who help shape us along the way.

My hope for every girl is that she grows knowing she does not have to shrink herself to be accepted, silence herself to be liked, or become anyone else to prove that she belongs.

Here’s to raising girls who know their voices matter, and women who make the path a little easier for the girls coming behind them.

Happy International Day of the Girl Child. 💗

My first wellness gathering. 🤍

It was such a breath of fresh air and a beautiful reminder to make room for myself too.

Time travel to the 80s, shall we?

I wanted to imagine more than just what I would have looked like. What would my actual life have looked like?

Motherhood, plenty of talking 😂, an Isoko wedding somewhere, travelling, radio, family, and of course, creating spaces and experiences for children.

Different decade. Same Mena. ❤️

The things they tell us now may feel small.

But every time our children come to us, they’re also learning something: Can I come back to you with this?

We won’t always have the perfect response. We may be tired, distracted, or tempted to say, “Is that all?” 😅

But sometimes, we don’t need to fix it. We just need to listen.
Because one day, the stories may be harder to tell.

And I want my child to already know: I can come to you.🥹

What’s something your child has told you recently that seemed small to you, but clearly mattered to them?

Sometimes we’re so quick to help our children find the right words, we forget to give them time to find their own. 🩶

So here’s a small challenge for this week: when someone asks your child a question, pause before you step in. Let them have a go first.

You’re still right there if they need you. 😊

Be honest, do you catch yourself answering questions that were actually meant for your child? 😂

Hello, August. 🤍 by @mena_berrie

Can I leave you with one question?

When you enroll your child in an activity, what are they really learning?

Maybe it’s not just about swimming, chess, or reading.

Maybe it’s about the confidence, resilience, patience, creativity, and life skills they’re building along the way.

Because what we allow today often becomes who they are tomorrow.

💬 I’d love to hear from you: What’s one life skill or experience you hope your child gains before this holiday ends?
