The Muertos Procession Committee is proud to announce the winning artist for our very first annual procession artwork contest: David Mena.

Being the first of what we hope becomes a lasting tradition, this decision carried extra weight — and we want to thank every artist who submitted their work and helped make this inaugural contest one to remember. In the end, we coincided on David’s piece. As an artist/muralist from our own community, he knew exactly how to bring all the elements together in a way that felt true to who we are.

Muchas gracias for the support, and here’s to many more years of celebrating our culture through art.

With love,
