What a powerful event.

A full room.
Real stories.
And young artists who completely owned the stage.

As part of our Echoes of Coleridge-Taylor project, these young people created and performed original pieces inspired by the legacy of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor — connecting Croydon’s musical history with the voices of today.

You could feel it in the room… people locked in, listening, moved.

This is what happens when young people are given space, support and a platform to express themselves properly.

And this is just the beginning.

Mirror Mirror Year 3 is coming.

WE WON! 🏆

The Mirror Mirror Project is now officially an award-winning service. A huge thank you to @sandfordawards for this incredible honour.

Last week, on behalf of MENT4 and in partnership with @bbcradio4 we proudly received the Young Audience Award for the Sunday Worship episode titled ‘True Identity’.

This powerful service, beautifully produced by Miriam Williamson, told the moving redemption story of Still Shadey, shaped through our Mirror Mirror Summer Initiative. This initiative gave 60 young people from South London the creative opportunity to rise above the same harsh realities Shadey once navigated.

The episode featured the voices and talents of the young people themselves, musical contributions from @chemistry_music_group and @melodeesfromheaven , and Scripture readings by Lord Michael Hastings.

We’re deeply grateful to Arts Council England (@aceagrams ) for their bold support, without which this project wouldn’t have been possible.

A massive thank you to all the mentors, speakers, and industry guests who helped make our first year a success. And the best part?

We’re doing it again this year! 👀 special announcement this week !

Mentoring young people in the creative industry opens doors to endless possibilities! From developing skills to building confidence, mentoring helps aspiring talents navigate their creative journey and unlock their full potential.

One of the youth organisations involved in the Mentoring Support Programme, @ment4__, provides one-to-one specialist mentoring for young people aged 11 to 18 based in and around Croydon facing emotional and behavioural challenges.

Meet Jude, mentor at Ment4, as he sits down with his mentee to talk about their powerful journey together. Watch their story and see how mentoring is making a real difference in their lives.

Our Mentoring Support Programme is funded by the @mayorofldn as part of the New Deal for Young People mission and delivered in partnership with Lifeline Projects.

50 Cent said, “never make a decision from an emotional place”. The book of Isaiah instructs, “wait on the Lord, and He will renew your strength”. It’s clear, there’s power in waiting. Stevo went on to be one of the most highest-achieving Comedians and Media Personalities in the UK - after relaxing.

He also shares on having an inspiring father as a source of support.

Grew up listening to Joe Black, the genre hadn’t been officially named yet but the raps he was putting out were certainly Real. Real one’s know the real work Blacks is still putting in behind the scenes for the next gen.

Building a lane is difficult in the UK, especially where there’s so much gate-keeping and trend-hopping. Bro did something fearless. Street trauma was an untapped space, @princeofdacitytrick gave language to a lot man that weren’t speaking.

This isn’t a glamorous conversation, but it’s an important one.
