Big congrats to Toronto artists Alexander Bacon and Que Rock, who were recently chosen to paint a landmark mural honouring Terry Fox!

“I want this mural to be a beacon of hope. I want those who see it to be reminded of Terry’s courage and feel uplifted and inspired, while also being a beautiful addition to the cityscape,” explains Alexander Bacon.

The mural is a signature project of ArtworxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art 2021-2022. It’ll be painted this summer on the north side of U of T’s Rehabilitation Sciences Building, overlooking part of the route Terry followed into downtown Toronto on July 11, 1980.

Be sure to check it out in a few months. Meanwhile, you can see another Que Rock mural at one of our venues! His visual land acknowledgement mural can be viewed on the west side of St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts at 27 Front Street East. by @meridianartscentre
