Starting off with a big thank you to God for all the graces received this year. 🌟 I’m so grateful for my family, my wonderful friends, the incredible opportunities like my Dumfries House residency, the chance to be part of the Turps Correspondence course for 2025-26, and especially for my health this year. It’s been a year of growth, creativity, and so much love. Here’s to carrying all that gratitude forward into the next adventure! ✨#ArtistLife #Residency2025 #CreativeJourney #Gratitude #BlessedAndThankful ArtisticAdventures Reflections ThankfulForThisYear by @metanoia_50
✨Monotype experimenting on Japanese paper ✨ Playing with the fluidity of inks and the softness of watercolour on A4 — letting the textures and fibers guide the flow. There's something magical about how this paper holds the story of each brushstroke. 🌊🖋️🎨 #JapanesePaper #InkAndWatercolour #ArtProcess #WIP #TexturedSurfaces #A4Art #CreativeExploration by @metanoia_50
Out in the open with charcoal in hand 🤍 There’s something grounding about working plein air — the wind, the shifting light, the textures of the landscape becoming part of the mark-making. Letting the scene speak through shadow and gesture. #PleinAir #CharcoalSketch #NatureStudy #ArtistOnLocation #MonochromeMood #CharcoalDrawing by @metanoia_50

The trees and farm animals around Dumfries House quietly shaped my days and my work. Their presence was grounding — a rhythm of stillness, breath, and gentle movement. #DumfriesHouseResidency #NatureInspires #ArtAndLandscape by @metanoia_50
Inside Dumfries House, magic lives in the details — the elegance of Chippendale furniture, each curve and carving a quiet masterpiece, and the extraordinary plasterwork that graces the walls like lace in stone. There’s a hush to the craftsmanship here, a reverence woven into every surface. It’s more than decor — it’s atmosphere, history, presence. A place that holds its breath and invites you to do the same.
