I’m beyond honored that my comedy/drama screenplay AS IS was chosen to be a 2026 Official Selection for the renowned Beverly Hills Film Festival. We’re so looking forward to heading out to LA next month to see lots of amazing films, mingle with fellow creatives, and get all gussied up for the black-tie awards ceremony! 😀 #thebhfilmfest #amwriting #screenwriting #filmfestival @thebhfilmfest by @mhstrauss

Being back at the 2025 @filminvasionla festival this past weekend was electric! Saw so many remarkable films, ran into old friends, made new ones, and left inspired by so much talent. ❤️🎥 Jeff Howard runs such a wonderful and energetic festival that celebrates filmmakers as much as the films themselves. The bonus was my script NANCY won Best in Fest in the TV Pilot/Series Screenplay category. ━━━━━━━ 🎬 ━━━━━━━ #lafilmfestival #filmfestivals #writerslife #screenwriting #amwriting @heffay111 by @mhstrauss

Just saw the wonderful docucomedy @rebelwithclausemovie tonight at the Vickers Theatre followed by a live Q&A with the filmmakers. ❤️🎥 The film follows grammarian Ellen Jovin as she travels across all 50 states with her “Grammar Table,” engaging in spontaneous and often humorous conversations about English grammar with people on the street. Be sure to see this film when it screens in a theater near you. You can find their live event tour schedule at rebelwithaclause.com. #grammar #documentary #documentaryfilmmaking #oxfordcomma @vickerstheatrethreeoaks by @mhstrauss

It’s a tremendous honor to have this indie comedy/drama screenplay selected as a finalist for the 15th Annual Catalina Film Festival. I learned that hundreds of scripts were submitted to this renowned, top-one-percent festival from over 50 countries. This is extra special because attending in 2023 with The Funeral Photographer was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. ❤🙏 #CatalinaFilm #filmfestivals #screenwriting #amwriting #writerslife @catalinafilm by @mhstrauss
While I typically write thriller, supernatural, surreal stories, it turns out this Indie comedy/drama feature is one of the favorite things I’ve ever written... “A struggling repairman’s life unravels as he discovers the truth about a peculiar recluse and the house he’s kept frozen in time since 1972.” Excited to share that this script is a 2025 semi-finalist in the renowned Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival! 😀🙏 #amwriting #screenwriting #writerslife #filmfestivals by @mhstrauss
