in just 10 days, my very first self-published book Stranger Soul will be released 🌱💚

for four years, i had been on the works of creating a book and envisioning its release. i came back to writing poetry as a quarantine habit during the pandemic era, as well as a form of self-care and outlet expressing my emotions. and throughout the years since i’ve been back to creative writing, i’ve been welcomed into community spaces to share and perform my poems in forms of songs and spoken word, that i became motivated to publish and release a project of my own.

Stranger Soul is a prose and poetry book that tells about the personal accounts of my experiences growing up and my emerging adulthood. themes include navigating one’s individual self, enduring heartbreak, reminiscing youthhood, and engaging in connection. many of the topics emphasize mental health, personal relationships, Asian-American culture & advocacy, and gender & sexuality.

as much as i have deeply enjoyed writing and illustrating this book, may your experience reading through my pieces deeply enlighten you in return :’)

my book Stranger Soul will be available for purchase through Amazon on Friday, June 28th, 2024 🤍 thank you all for your support of my creativity 🫶🏼 by @mia.g.rios
