The King. While traveling through Rocky Mountain National Park, I came across this bull elk, standing proud, like a king with his crown of antlers. During the Fall rut, the park feels alive with their presence, every bugle echoing through the valleys. A moment that stopped me in my tracks. #RockyMountainElk #RMNP #BullElk #FallRut #RockyMountainNationalPark #wildlifeencounters #wildlifephotography #Nikon #naturelovers #visitcolorado #FallColors #Naturephotography #intothewild #autumnvibes #coloradowildlife #nationalparksusa #wildlife #elk by @michaelwbondphotography
While visiting a friend near the mouth of the Columbia River, we were lucky enough to witness something truly unforgettable, several Bald Eagles soaring overhead. I had heard they were fairly common in this region, but seeing them up close, in their element, was something else entirely. There is a kind of quiet power in the way they move, wings stretched wide, eyes fixed with laser focus on the water below. We watched in awe as they glided far out toward the open sea, scanning the waves for their next meal. Majestic doesn’t quite cover it. These birds are not just symbols of freedom, they are master hunters, perfectly adapted to the wild, rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest. #baldeagle #pnwlife #pacificnorthwest #eagle #birdwatching #columbiariver #wildlife #wildlifephotography #usa #naturelovers #birdofprey #explorenature #outdoorlife #wildpnw #pnwphotography #nikon #nikonphotography by @michaelwbondphotography
Rocky Mountain elk While hiking through the backcountry, I always bring my camera, just in case the wilderness decides to offer up one of its quiet, awe-inspiring surprises. On this particular day, I was lucky enough to come across this beautiful female Rocky Mountain elk, resting peacefully in a field. She was perfectly still, yet fully aware of her surroundings. You can tell by the position of her ears, pointed forward, attentive and alert to the sounds around her, including the quiet crunch of my footsteps nearby. It's a subtle reminder of how in tune wildlife is with their environment, and how deeply they live in the present. These are the kinds of moments that make every mile on the trail worth it, when you're reminded that you're just a guest in their world. #RockyMountainElk #WildlifePhotography #NatureLovers #HikingAdventures #ElkInTheWild #NaturePhotography #WildernessEncounters #StayWild #elk #colorado by @michaelwbondphotography

Wall Street. Not the financial kind, the Zion National Park kind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I remember doing this hike on my birthday a few years back. What an amazing experience it was to wade through 5 miles of water while inside of a massive slot canyon. There were even a few spots where the water was so deep you had to swim! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This specific section of the Narrows at Zion National Park is called Wall Street due to the massive walls on either side of the canyon. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #nationalpark #zionnationalpark #hikingday #hiking #nature #slotcanyon #adventure #travel #landscape #utah #naturephotography #outdoors #hikingadventures #photography #travelnevada #hike #wanderlust #outdoor #explore #landscapephotography #naturelovers #river #travelphotography #photooftheday #getoutside #wandermore #wandern #nikon #optoutside #allaboutadventures by @michaelwbondphotography
Snow in the desert. You hardly ever see those two words in the same sentence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Over the last week, the Las Vegas area received quite a bit of rain and snow. I knew that I needed to visit Red Rock again to see the snow on the mountains before it melted. I climbed up Turtlehead Peak to capture some beautiful views, and was not disappointed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #nationalpark #mountains #hikingday #mountainlake #lasvegas #topofthemountain #hikemoreworryless #hikingtrip #adventure #travelnevada #hikingadventure #hikingtrails #outdoor #snow #desert #getoutside #bestofvegas #redrockcanyon #freshair #nature #beyondtheneon #wandern #allaboutadventures #explore #travel #getoutside #naturelovers #landscapephotography #nikon #travelphotography by @michaelwbondphotography
You wouldn't expect a normal hike to have bouldering and 20 foot drops with ropes to repel from, but Goldstrike Hot Springs has both. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After climbing over boulders the size of small buses and scrambling up and down affixed ropes, you are rewarded with a nice dip in some natural hot springs! Believe me when I say that this hike is not for those without much upper body strength. There are 5-6 rope sections that require quite a bit of strength to move through. If you'd still like to visit the hot springs here, I would suggest kayaking in from Willow Beach, since you can visit some of the hot spring pools from the river without having to go through the rope sections. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #hiking #nature #adventure #travel #goldstrikehotsprings #landscape #nevada #naturephotography #outdoors #hikingadventures #photography #travelnevada #lasvegas #mountain #bestofvegas #outdoor #explore #landscapephotography #naturelovers #coloradoriver #travelphotography #photooftheday #desert #getoutside #wandermore #hotsprings #wandern #optoutside #allaboutadventures #beyondtheneon by @michaelwbondphotography
Whenever I hike down to the Colorado River, I try to make it there before the boats arrive. The water is so calm in the early morning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #hiking #mountains #adventure #travel #landscape #nevada #naturephotography #outdoors #hikingadventures #photography #coloradoriver #travelnevada #hike #wanderlust #lasvegas #mountain #bestofvegas #explore #landscapephotography #naturelovers #river #travelphotography #photooftheday #desert #getoutside #wandermore #wandern #optoutside #allaboutadventures #beyondtheneon by @michaelwbondphotography
