POSTS STORIES REELS

Now that I’m finally starting to emerge from my editing cave I can share some of these jaw dropping shoots we’ve been working on around here. 🤗

First up, these breathtaking moments from Alex and Nistha’s session in May. Alex worked with me to plan an American proposal for the love of his life, Nistha. He made sure to incorporate the parts of her that he cherishes with sweet love notes on roses and with a little help from her sisters. Although they’ve already had a traditional Eritrean engagement ceremony, he wanted to make sure she’d get the best of both cultures.

I've said it before but proposal are my faaaaaavorite. There's so much joy that goes into them. Plus hearing and guiding the nerves of the partner who is planning the proposal is so fun! Alex did such a good job keeping his cool and including Nistha's family. I mean just look at em!!! by @michelleevansart

I had a call today with a potential couple today that went a little deeper than expected. Which if youve been following this page for a little while or if you've ever had a session with me you know Im here for the real talk, not small talk.

The couple was being very open about their love for their community and the people in their lives. They emphasized how important it was for their friends and family to enjoy themselves and come together on their wedding day.

Then, with a little shyness and possible fear of offending me, they tried to gently say "we really dont want a long time dedicated to portraits on the wedding day."

There was a pause on their end. Maybe they thought it might offend me by saying this. But the truth is this was music to my ears. I told them exactly what I'm about to tell you:

To be perfectly frank, you can have whatever photos you're wanting for your wedding day. If there's something you don't want or think is stupid, I will never take offense. If you want grand magazine moments where we dedicate hours to portraiture, awesome! Or if that's where me and my team spend time being flies on the wall to try to grab organic moments as they unfold, awesome! I'm not in this business because of those published magazine moments. I've had those. Those are cool, and fun to brag about, but that's not what keeps me coming back to this job. I'm here because of the human experience. Capturing the human experience-to me- is what this life is about. There's nothing more beautiful than a real moment. And that's what I'm here for-whatever human experience it is that's to come out of it.

This is why I want to TALK with you before you book me. Yes, budget is a thing. But to my biz, the real value is in the experience and understanding my clients wants and seeing if we are all a good fit for each other.

I'm proud of each of these photos from Candice and Brennans wedding. They aren't all the most beautiful photo, but they are beautiful moments that they will always remember.💕

Happy Monday! Hope you find time to reflect on the things that are important to you today.🤗 by @michelleevansart

For some reason I couldn't make posts yesterday, but here we are, a day later and I still can't get over it!!!!!

Hello everyone! This is Becca (Michelle’s social media assistant 😉).

Michelle won’t let me claim she is a fall person, but I’m still in the Halloween spirit, so here are a TON of spooky season photos that seem to prove otherwise.

Are you Team Fall with me or Team Summer with Michelle?? by @michelleevansart

My favorite part of the wedding day still remains First Looks. Hunter’s reaction to Rachel is exactly why: we can see the stress melt away when you finally get to see your partner. With the added bonus of little gems like Hunter asking “Wait, wow, how does the veil even stay in your hair?? Is that magic?” Witchcraft of course. 😉

Happy one year anniversary to these two, cheers to many more happy years!!

5 years of the Winingers! Murphy, Will, I talk about your wedding day all the time.

Murphy is THE bride that got me to get over my bug prejudice (slide 3), did her wedding day *her* way with all her interests, hobbies (slide7), and favorite people around. Bugs, books, vintage, Scottish heritage, stand up, and a little bit of theater.

👉 Specifically, I remember laughing SO much at your fabulous group of friends. Your surprises that brought people to happy tears (and you!). And my favorite thing to tell people about: the wedding party all improving in unison the snapping scene from West Side story (slide 6).

So much can happen in 5 years. I hope you two are taking in the journey you've had together and celebrating it the way it's meant to be.

I hope you two have an incredible anniversary and enjoy reliving these memories as much as I did! by @michelleevansart

Could not have asked for a better turn out!

Emily and Anthony are two kind souls that cherish their friends and family. Although they're not huge fans of being the center of attention, they THREW IT DOWN on the dance floor on the sweltering Memphis summer night.

Congratulations once again Emily and Anthony!! Y'all deserve the world together!

STILL one of my favorite weddings to date! The 2021 colorful wedding of my dreams!!

Sometimes my job let’s me do cool things like photograph a friend’s wedding, then attend as a guest at their Karaoke reception. Hallie and Caleb are the perfect example of planning a wedding that shows off your personality. Colorful, whimsical florals, the tiger pjs, lego cake toppers, snacks galore and having an early “faux” exit so you can party with your friends in your favorite way- belting out Fergalicious! A time was had!

HAPPY FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY YOU TWO!!!!!

Gah. These two. Amanda and Zack have a really sweet story where their paths crossed a couple of times before they were ready to be together. And when things were right, everything aligned the way it was supposed to be.

This was a Memphis Elopement that I’m going to think about for many years to come. Everything aligned the way it needed to in the short weeks they planned it. Sentimental, intimate, a little calm, and a little wild...perfectly fitting for these two.

One year down, so many more to go! Happy Anniversary you two!

Ebone and Christopher came all the way in from Alaska to have their wedding at the @memphisbotanic

How has it been FIVE YEARS already?? I hope you two have the best anniversary, and here’s to many more to come!! by @michelleevansart

Memphis, I freakin love you. Y’all did this! 🎉

This was 100% all YOU voting us into top 3 ✨ Best Memphis Wedding Photographer✨ with the @memphisflyer this year!

I’ll be so honest with you: I was not expecting this, especially this year. I’ve tried and campaigned hard in years past, and decided not to put my energy into it this year. I think I made two posts about it? But behind the scenes someone, well, several someones are talking up Michelle Evans Art in rooms we’re not in. AND THAT IS JUST WILD!

Memphis be like that sometimes. Groups of people who care deeply for each other and are ready to show up without even being asked. People who want their community to thrive and grow, and SHOW up to protect it. I love this town and am so grateful to have a little business here to give some love back.

Hearing and telling your stories here in this small town city is sincerely such a blessing. Thank you for trusting and loving on us! We are so incredibly honored to be a part of the Best of Memphis Wedding community.

Thank y’all. Sincerely from the bottom of my heart. 🧡
