FuelHub has been ranked number 39 in The Sunday Times 100 2026. A list of Britain’s fastest growing private companies.

Seven years ago, we started our business from scratch from our kitchen table.

So proud of how far we’ve come, the team we’ve built and the 4 million meals that we have served to customers across the UK💚

Want to hear an incredible story of entrepreneurship, and success through adversity?

From playing in front of tens of thousands, to career ending injuries, to labouring on a building site… to building one of the UK’s fastest growing businesses - today’s guest is what Project Possible is all about.

Describing himself as one of rugby league’s ‘unluckiest’ players, today’s guest @jameslaithwaite broke the same leg four times, broke his neck on the pitch and lost the only career he had ever imagined.

At 27, he went from playing professional rugby league in front of tens of thousands to labouring on building sites, with a baby on the way and no fallback plan.

Then he and his wife @michellelaithwaite started meal prep business @fuelhubuk.

Their son was born on the day the company launched - James talks about leaving the hospital that morning to deliver its first meals.

They later sold everything, emptied their savings and risked it all to keep it alive.

Seven years later, FuelHub produces around 25,000 meals a week, turns over nearly £7 million - it’s on track to hit £12m this year - and has become one of the UK’s fastest-growing private businesses.

Its customers and partners include Team GB, England Rugby, Manchester United, Chelsea, Fulham, @eddiehearn and @matchroomboxing.

This is a conversation about losing the only identity you’ve ever known, risking everything on a second chance and building an entirely new life from scratch.
