Finally announcing that a film I worked on, “Worst Christmas Ever”, has been released. I’m so grateful for Penka Kouneva and the team for allowing me to work as an additional composer for this film. You can watch it now on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, or Plex TV. #musiccomposer by @michellelugomusic

Rockolandia, an animation project I worked on as a music editor, has just won 5 Emmys in 4 categories! It’s been a crazy journey ever since I started working with Alfa 2.0, who won an Emmy for audio post-production. All the episodes of Rockolandia have been added to Youtube, Prime Video, and now Youtube Kids. It has also been part of a few festivals and other awards as well. I’m grateful to have been a small part of such a great animation show, and that it has reached so many people. I’m so happy for the whole team, congratulations to everyone who worked so hard on this! by @michellelugomusic

Hello all! I am pleased to finally share that I was a part of this great short, @bradleyinlove_animatedshort, as a re-recording mixer. It was screened a few days ago in LA, although I finished my work more than 6 months ago. It was such a fun film, and I'm grateful for the chance! I want to thank @kristencookofficial, for choosing me to mix your amazing animated film. by @michellelugomusic

Here I leave a few more highlights ❤️ by @michellelugomusic

Part 1 of trip to California with @coronacional_pr!

I was so grateful I was able to sing with my choir in California for the Voices Unite Festival. We went to a small town called San Luis Obispo, where promptly after arriving, we were received with applause, and each choir sang a few songs from their repertoire. It was not only a few days full of singing and rehearsals, it was also a time I got to hang out with some really nice friends.

1, 2 and 3. On the second day, where we got to see some of the local mountains and water.
4. A selfie right outside the place we sang Carmina Burana.
5 and 6. Us arriving last to meet everyone.
7. A photo that’s not mine but it shows the inside of the place we sang (it’s huge!)
8 and 9. Sightseeing with some other choir members.
10. A picture from the hotel
11. The director conducting choirs and orchestra during rehearsals.
12. More sightseeing with friends.
13 to 17. Taking pictures by the flowers with our gala dresses.
18. Performing at a church.
19 and 20. Cool mural during our third day. by @michellelugomusic

Grateful that a project I was working as a music editor for 10 months, Rockolandia, premiered this morning on TV. This animation project was made 100% in Puerto Rico, and many amazing people were involved in its creation. You can watch the first episode on their Youtube channel with subtitles. Oh, and peek the second pic ☺️ by @michellelugomusic

The short film CAUGHT, which I mixed the audio for, is now available to watch on YouTube!

CAUGHT was shot as one continuous take. With the genre of the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge being thriller / suspense it created the perfect playground to shoot CAUGHT as a oner. With single-takes, there are no cut-aways or edits as the tension builds throughout the story. With no edits, there’s no air being let out of the balloon. The audience is forced to hang in the story with the characters, even when they might want to look away.

Last GDC Recap! 💜✨🕹️

It was my first time both in San Francisco and attending GDC in person. And I’ll say that going for the first time was such a magical experience, I really didn’t want to leave. I was in such disbelief when the plane landed back home. It was such long flight hours just to make it to San Francisco but it was so worth it, every single second! I met so many amazing and bright people and it just motivates me so hard to keep going and working towards achieving my goals. I received so many things and business cards that it’s going to take me a while to go through every single one and add y’all on my socials, but I love with how many people I’ve connected. Having been to the GameSoundCon, a similar convention but just for game audio, I had an idea of how this event was going to go, but it honestly surpassed my expectations. I really hope I have the privilege of going next year, and will know exactly where and what to do next time ✨ Here’s an explanation of the pics:

1. First attraction I saw in SF, the famous Golden Gate Bridge, which I saw the next day after I arrived from my flight
2. The very first thing I see once I arrived to SF (in the absolute best airport I’ve ever been; I think I’m in love)
3. Continuation of 1
4. A streetcar (I didn’t get to go on one, but next time)
5. Moscone Center 🤩 when I went to pick up my badge from the event
6. Inside the Moscone picking my badge
7. Me and my bestie (badge)
8. Amazing building, and you can see the excitement
9-11. GDC night
12. One of the talks I went to
13. My fellow “scholars” from @prgda
14. One of the best events at the GDC, the concert! It was surreal to be THAT close to Austin Wintory
15. @latamvgf meeting, and me looking as cool as ever
16. Went to explore the Golden State park, and stumbled upon a japanese garden exhibit
17. Pics with some of the best people I’ve ever met
18. Selfies; 2 while walking around the golden state bridge, one in the palace of fine arts, and one at the Moscone
19. Drawing from @drawnesteban on one of our nights out (Wednesday) by @michellelugomusic

Day 5 of GDC 🥳

The last day at GDC was pretty empty compared to the rest of the days, you could tell it was all coming to an end. But that didn’t mean I didn’t use the last day to the maximum. I met some really cool composers I wanted to meet, the most surprising of them all Winnifred Phillips, who I’ve been studying for the past few years. I was also 10 feet proximity to Austin Wintory 🤯 although didn’t get to take a pic with him. I also got to participate on the music demo derby and got some personalized feedback on my music. You can tell I was collecting pins like Pokemon 🕹️

Since expo hall closed early, I got there early one last time to go to all the booths I had missed before they closed. I really tried to go to as many things as I could, and in retrospect, there were things I should have prioritized, but overall, I really enjoyed my experience on my first in-person GDC!

As always, thanks to @prgda, @latamvgf and @latinxingaming for sponsoring me and making it possible for me to be here in the first place. I got to make some really lovely friends, like one my fellow scholars @drawnesteban (and the rest of them), special shoutout to @sylvette3d, @d1gitalrabbit, @edwardivan__ and everyone who helped make my first experience so unforgettable. I seriously am sad it’s over, and if I had an extra week I know I would have made double the impact, but I enjoyed talking to people and letting them know about my upcoming game Elemdian, with @ogicalgames. Going back home in a few hours, but I hope I’ll be able to make it next year! Stay tuned, as I plan to make a Youtube video of my whole experience, especially for my fellow introverts! by @michellelugomusic

Day 4 of GDC 🎶

This was my busiest day! I kept running around from building to building, and went to a few parties like “hi, nice to meet you, ok bye!” So I was definitely tired at the end, but it was so good! I coincided with more people who I didn’t realize were connected to me in many ways (one was a Berklee alumni who also attended the Penka masterclass at the same time as me, and she’s latina, so that’s wild!) I also went to the Puerto Rico game devs (and one of the scholars fell asleep lol). It was my longest and busiest day, so I was tired from running all around, but as always had so much fun! by @michellelugomusic

Day 3 of GDC 👾

What an amazing day! Expo hall opened, which had a lot of booths from different companies like Discord, FMOD, and many others. It also had games and networking sessions. I also went to the GDC concert with Austin Wintory as the conductor, it was absolutely surreal! I met some incredible people, like Brian Schmidt from GameSoundCon, and saw some other friends. The audio sessions were super good as well, and later had a great time dancing with the @prgda scholars. All in all, it was really unforgettable! by @michellelugomusic
