If you love your enemies-to-lovers with ACTUAL enemies, then you need this book on your TBR! 🔥

The tension? The angst? The betrayal? THE PLOT TWISTS?! Honestly, I was hooked from start to finish. This is a proper slow burn, where the hatred is real, the animosity is layered, and nobody is falling in love just because someone is attractive. 😂

Packed with secrets, lies, unexpected twists and brilliant character development, this book kept me guessing right until the end. Every time I thought I had it figured out, A.T. Emerald threw another curveball.

Dystopian fantasy, action-packed storytelling and a deliciously drawn-out enemies-to-lovers romance? YES PLEASE. Note the romance is a sub plot!

I absolutely loved this and I NEED book 2 immediately. 😭🔥

If you like your romantasy with a side of genuine hatred, emotional damage and tension you could cut with a knife, READ THIS.

📚 BOOK GIRL MATHS IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT KIND OF MATHS. 😂

£15 on a book? Practically free. Buying 5 books to get free delivery? Financial genius. Having 367 unread books but buying another one? An investment. Not going out because you need to save money for books? Sensible budgeting.

Honestly, the maths is maths-ing. 🤷‍♀️

I don't make the rules. I just buy the books.

Now tell me… what's YOUR most ridiculous example of book girl maths?

👇 Confess your bookish financial crimes in the comments. No judgement here (because we're probably all guilty).

📚 Save this for your next book-buying justification and send it to your book-loving friend who needs to see this! by @michysbookcorner

This is a short dystopian, vampire speculative fiction/fantasy. Its spicy, its feminist, we have a scientist fmc, its a great read. We met the fmc, down on her luck having left her abusive husband, sofa surfing and in a bad place mentally.

The world has had its population decimated because of a mysterious illness. The fmc ends up in a science research facility trying to solve the cause of said illness, but nothing is as it seems

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Its fast paced, the world is interesting, the characters (particularly the women) are developed, flawed, varied and have their own traumas and coping mechanisms. I loved the feminist explorations through this; male abuse, expectations, having children all woven into the story.

The plot thickens as the book progresses and there are a number of well told twists and turns and big surprises at the end of the book. I did not expect the ending at all and guessed completely incorrectly where it was headed!

The mmc was great, I won't say too much about him, as I don't want to spoil it. But he's a quiet librarian in glasses. Eniugh said. I would say, his character seemed slightly less well developed compared to the women, so I hope he gets more of a story in the next book. But for a 275 book, so much is covered.

Overall I was really impressed with this and I will definitely read the next in the series, out in 2027! @emma_ellis_author

Book 2 in the saint and steel series which centres on. Different paladin in each book. Paladins strength is about Ishtvan a giant of a man on a seemingly easy mission. Along the way he meets Clara a nun of a very small secretive order.
This is cozy fantasy romance at its best. There are twists and turns, sword fights (many) heroic saves, evil villians, political problems and much more in between.

These books work so well because there is so much heart in them; compassion, comradarie, love, people trying to do their best in incredibly difficult circumstances, and plenty of humour along the way

The continuation of the strange, murderous creatures in this book is fantastic. It goes off in a direction I would not have seen coming and Kingfisher handles this with so much care and humanity. I loved it. I won't write too much about it as it will completely spoil it!

The ending to this book is so actuon packed, full of grief and joy it was impossible to out down. It has left me feeling happy, sated and looking forward to the next book.

The only minor criticism I would say about this book is the travelling part maybe goes on too long and the second half seems to be event after event, which makes the pacing of the book seem odd.

If you love T.Kingfishers writing, don't miss out on this one. Its full of love, compassion, grief, growth, learning to let people in and wit.
