Building our home, our life, and our family together as two dads.

This is our story. We’re so happy that you’re here with us. Follow along!

🍼 This. ALL of THIS. We’ve been doing LOTS of THIS.

🩵 This past month has been one of the most amazing of our lives. Our hearts have grown more than we ever imagined possible with the birth of our son, Bruno. We love him so much, and he’s giving us everything right now.

Thank you all for your continued support as we continue the greatest adventure yet. Fatherhood is one that we’ve been dreaming of since we were young, and here we are!

Also, major kudos to all the other parents out there, we were extremely delulu about our aspirational sleep schedule. 😂 by @midwesthusbands

We want to be remembered for working hard, spreading positivity, and sharing joy with others.

It’s important to celebrate the things we love about each other as husbands but also bring forward the differences that make us unique within the LGBTQ community. For us, kindness, respect, a sense of adventure, and a strong connection to our culture are core values—and ones we look forward to passing down to our future children.

Looking for more? @equality.ohio is a great place to find support and real stories from LGBTQ+ people across the state.

🔨 We built a nursery before we knew who it was for.

Adoption or surrogacy, baby or toddler, we had no idea who was coming. So we made a room that could grow with them! 🤍

Have you built something without knowing who it would be for?

Why did we decide to build a home? We wanted a home we could grow into.

In our last house, we couldn’t imagine spending over $100,000 on a renovation. At that time, and in that neighborhood, we would have priced ourselves out of the market. So we built in a new community with everything to our specs, with plenty of room for customization in time.

What’s a wishlist item on your house project list?

Planning a trip for three generations? Here’s how we did it!

A few days in @annarbor showed us each (including our baby) amazing places to enjoy and explore.

Save for your next family adventure!

In May 2022, our theater was a concrete box. Aka basement walls!

Since then we have painted it a deep red, built the shelves and media console in our garage shop, and now it’s the room we use most for relaxing in the evenings.

Walls: @valsparpaint Berry Brown
Media Console: @behrpaint Honey Stain & Poly

Would you go this dark in a basement? Send this to the friend who keeps saying they’ll finish theirs.

This is for all those who’ve dreamed it… know it’s possible.

Cheers to five years of love is love as Midwest Husbands!

We work because we fill in each other’s gaps, not because we’re the same.

How does your person complement you?

It finally happened! Our first date night out since becoming dads.

We had an extra special time with @spicecateringandevents Plated Landscape at @heritagefarmspeninsula, even making a couple new friends with other parents!

Tag those you think need a night out, as this was such a fun time! by @midwesthusbands
