Happy National Dog Day 🐾 Happy National Dog Day to all the dogs who make our lives a little happier, a little messier, and a whole lot better. ❤️ Here’s to the goofy faces, the wagging tails, the adventures, and the unconditional love. And a special shoutout to my special man, Beau—the best writing partner I could ever ask for. 🐶❤️📚 #NationalDogDay #DogLovers #RaisingBeau #cattledogsofinstagram #BestWritingPartner by @mikeslupski
I think puppies have a pretty difficult first few weeks. Everything is new, everyone has rules, and apparently some things are not meant to be chewed. 😂 Raising Beau: A Puppy's Journey by @mikeslupski tells the story from Beau's point of view as he figures out this strange new world called life with humans. At first, even his new home feels a little scary. Then come the walks, car rides, new dog friends, tricks, games, and, of course, a few puppy mistakes along the way. A sock may or may not survive the experience. 😂 What I really liked was the way Beau slowly builds confidence. His humans give him patience when he's unsure, guidance when he makes mistakes, and plenty of love through all of it. And that becomes the biggest lesson of the story: Beau doesn't just learn how to sit, shake paws, or behave around the house. He learns that he belongs. A sweet choice for young animal lovers and children who are facing new experiences of their own. And honestly, a pretty lovely reminder that sometimes what helps us feel brave is simply knowing someone has our back. ❤️ 📚 Raising Beau: A Puppy's Journey by Michael Slupski Picture Book | Ages 5+ | Themes: puppies, family, courage, kindness, belonging, new experiences, learning from mistakes by @mikeslupski
Being an author isn't just writing a book. It's the late-night ideas. The second-guessing. The rewrites. The “is this actually any good?” moments. And sometimes, staring at a blank screen wondering where the story went. 😂 But then you get that moment when an idea finally comes together… and you remember why you started. I'm still learning, still writing, and still figuring this whole author journey out. And honestly? I'm having a lot of fun doing it. 📚✍️ #authorlife #indieauthor #writingjourney #childrensbook #indieauthorsofinstagram by @mikeslupski

I’ve been a little quiet on my author page lately… mostly because Beau has apparently decided he needs his own social media career. 😂🐾 But behind the scenes, the writing hasn’t stopped. Raising Beau: A Puppy’s Journey was only the beginning, and I’m excited about what’s still ahead. 📚💛 Sometimes the hardest part isn’t writing the story… it’s remembering to stop and share the story you’re writing. #kidsbooks #childrensbook #kidlit #author #vacation by @mikeslupski
My government name is Beau... but apparently Mom and Dad have other ideas. 😂🐾 How many nicknames does your pet have? Drop your favorite below! #doglover #cattledog #RaisingBeau #dogsofinstagram #doglife by @mikeslupski
People see the finished book. They don't see the dozens of rewrites, the ideas that didn't work, the late nights, or the moments of wondering if anyone would ever read it. Every page of Raising Beau: A Puppy's Journey started with one simple goal: tell a story worth sharing. I'm already working on what's next, and I can't wait to share more of the journey with you. Thanks for following along—it truly means a lot. #authorlife #childrensbook #writingcommunity #indieauthorsofinstagram #indieauthor by @mikeslupski
