BOLWERK ◦ Bolwerk is an installation-based exhibition in which six young artists explore the meaning of the term “bolwerk.” Originally, it refers to military architecture and defensive structures, such as a bastion or a protruding part of a city wall. In a contemporary context, however, the word has taken on broader meanings, referring to a place of safety, a strong or defended position, or even a tightly connected group or mindset. ◦ In this exhibition, bolwerk is not only a central concept but also a starting point for exploration within installation art. Terugblik: DE BESTE STUURLUI STAAN AAN WAL — Millo Op de Beeck In deze tentoonstelling bracht Op de Beeck sculpturen samen die speelden met balans, ruimte en fragiliteit. DE BESTE STUURLUI STAAN AAN WAL Millo Op de Beeck presenteert een tentoonstelling over de spanning tussen verantwoording en artistieke vrijheid. Hij toont een reeks werken waarin de relatie tussen sculptuur en ruimte tegelijk dragend en precair is, en waarin de werken hun plek zoeken binnen dat spanningsveld.
