4 YEARS OF RUST 🎉 by @milopkl

Some close ups of the cover art for HOPE IN THE GRAVE - artwork by @euan_boyd_art who has a unique and psychedelic style. I asked for an image that would represent loss, misery, hopelessness etc. and Euan delivered. The image is open to interpretation with its symbolism but there is the depiction of a human figure being struck down or smited by bolts of energy, the figure is curled up in position in front of some kind of altar or imposing structure, a vortex spirals above while darkness oozes below. All the while taunted by ghost-like skeletal faces. I thought the image perfectly captured the feelings I wanted expressed on the album. Huge thanks to Euan.

it all started when i joined PUKELIZATION in 2009. i lived in tiny rural outback town Broken Hill. i traded cds with a local metalhead Ricky Boon who played guitar in a touring thrash band, formerly of FURY and later creating SERENITY DEFILED. fun fact, he was and still is blind. through his international cd trading he received the Storm Of Resurrection album by Pukelization. i received this from Ricky in a trade. i followed the band on myspace and noticed they needed a bass player. i dont know why i thought that some 19 year old kid from outback Australia would be a good choice for a Japanese brutal deathgrind band, but they agreed. i played with Pukelization for 10 years writing many songs on different albums and eventually producing Mental Lords. Pukelization is on hiatus now, but my time with the band ended in 2019 after my last live show with in Indonesia. I toured many asian countries thanks to the opportunities provided by Pukelization. when i left Pukelization i wanted to continue writing metal music of course. that is when i decided to continue a little side project that i started in 2014 - MILOPKL. back then, i cut and spliced pre existing Pukelization drum tracks into new songs and patterns, writing riffs to my creations. eventually in 2017, Yassy the Pukelization drummer would agree to record all new original drums for my new milopkl music. together we recorded a bunch of albums. now Yassy is a family man and too busy with life to dedicate time to milopkl. so eventually i bought a drum kit and a mic set and recorded my own drums at home. everything was going great until i had to move house to a quiet family neughbourhood. then i could no longer play drums. Extreme Order Of Existence was the first album that i hired a drummer. im very proud of that album, like im proud of all my albums, from Pukelization to Milopkl. i dont know what the future holds for me and my music, but when it comes to milopkl - which is just one of my many musical split personalities - i have enjoyed creating true, real authentic metal while wearing my influences on my sleeve.
