Did you know that 1 in 5 neurodivergent employees have experienced harassment or discrimination at work?

These behaviours are never welcome in the workplace and may not present in an obvious way.

Comments, jokes, a lack of understanding, exclusion, and constant questioning are all signs of this harmful behaviour.

Here are three reasons why this is particularly detrimental:

1. Neurodivergence often accompanies increased anxiety and overthinking. Actions taken in the workplace can have a compounding and lasting effect on neurodivergent individuals.

2. Neurodivergent people often feel compelled to mask their differences in an effort to appear "normal," especially when they feel uncomfortable in their environment.

3. Feeling overly pressured and harassed diminishes confidence and hinders the ability of all employees, especially those who are neurodivergent, to interact and perform at their best.

We need to practice patience, flexibility, and understanding different ways of thinking in order to be supportive of every team member and contribute to creating an inclusive and understanding work culture.

Does this resonate with you or anyone you know?

Have you heard about The Big Plastic Count happening this week? If you haven’t, it’s a global initiative to encourage people to document and address plastic pollution through data collection and it's not too late to take part!

The main purpose of participating is to raise awareness about the extent of plastic pollution, collect data to understand its impact on the environment, and encourage individuals and communities to take action towards reducing plastic waste and protecting our planet's ecosystems.

How to take part:
Register: Head over to thebigplasticcount.com and sign up.

👉 Grab Your Gear: Equip yourself with gloves, a reusable bag, and any other supplies you'll need for your plastic cleanup adventure.

👉 Pick Your Spot: Choose a location to survey for plastic pollution. It could be a beach, a park, a riverbank, or even your own neighbourhood.

👉 Count and Collect: Walk your chosen area and keep an eye out for plastic waste. Document the types and quantities of plastic you find using the Big Plastic Count app or website.

👉 Share Your Findings: After the cleanup, upload your data to the Big Plastic Count platform. Our contributions will help scientists and conservationists understand the scope of the plastic pollution problem.

👉 Spread the Word: We can share our Big Plastic Count experience on social media and encourage others to join the movement so that as many people as possible are made aware.

Do you already take steps to reduce your plastic use?

Let's see how much you know about ISAs:

Did you know that all growth is tax free?

Did you know that you can invest up to £20,000 across all your ISA accounts?

For example:
You could have £8,000 in a Stocks and Shares ISA, £4,000 in a Lifetime ISA and £4,000 in a Cash ISA and you would still have £4,000 available to increase your ISA savings!

On this important day, we would like to remind everyone how important it is to plan ahead for the future, put away savings and invest mindfully for your loved ones.

We are currently helping a client to look after their disabled grandson. One of the ways we do this is to ensure that they will get their benefits in the future.

We work to ensure that you get the support that you are entitled to. For example, we can help you to ensure that your loved ones aren't left under the care of the council, but given the right care that you want for them.

Not all persons with disabilities are born that way. There is sadly a possibility that the people closest to our hearts, or even ourselves, could suddenly end up needing extra financial support as a result of a tragic accident or illness.

Hopefully this will never happen to you, but it is important to prepare for the worst. If you would like advice on how to prepare for a financial misfortune, book a free discovery call with us today and we will be happy to help.

You might've heard of a cash cow... but a cash cat?! No, we don't recommend getting one!

Something you've surely heard of however - pensions! Well they're not always the best option for you either.

Today's alternative option: ISA

Our video covers some of the key benefits from an ISA.
To put it simply, any interest or growth in an ISA is tax free!

If you want to find out more about how an ISA could help you with your finances, just reach out to us. We're here to help!

Here's a little reminder on the importance of conscious consumerism.

Please be mindful today! Ask yourself:

🤔Do I need it?
🤔Will it improve my life?
👣If yes to the above, what would be the most sustainable option possible?
💰And finally, is it actually good value?

It's time for a #MindfulMonday Q&A!

The question we are answering today is:

"Is my money 'safe'?"

Our answer:

Ups and downs are normal! In fact - the higher the volatility (amount your investment can go up and down) the more the potential for growth.

All financial plans involve some level of risk. Even saving in a fixed account means that although your capital is safe, you are at risk of inflation reducing the value of your savings.

The key takeaway here is to know what you are planning for. If you are investing for long term, then you will have time to recover from any market fluctuations.
