Yes we will ✨💛 and don’t forget all the restaurants, family owned businesses, play areas, touristy spots, locals only hangouts and yummy cafes around them! 😛 @lifeunb0xing by @minivacays

I know it’s easy to get away with justifying things that are “cheaper than back home” but we had to stay grounded on this trip!

Clothes was a big focus because I kept thinking yeah it’s nice… but he won’t be wearing it next year 😭 which made me sad but also glad I didn’t spend it on that??

If you’re trying to keep more money in your pocket or at least diversifying while you’re traveling, here’s some tips on how to avoid spending in the closet and more toward fun fun fun!

We arrived at the Corner Store around 8am and ordered 2 sandwiches (had to get the BLT), vanilla latte, strawberry matcha and a croissant for our little one.

The sun was just starting to peek over the rooftops and shine on the rocky shore. We were able to enjoy our breakfast after a 5 minute drive to White Point Beach. There’s a small entrance fee (I believe it was $3) but so worth it. There’s plenty of space to park as well as two sides or views to choose from.

☀️🥪☕️🌊

The Corner Store is a historic café and a beloved gathering place in San Pedro for almost 80 years. Today, it enters a new chapter while preserving its soul with its commitment to quality, care, and community connection.

We had such a fun time joining the tide pools tour with @cabrillomarineaquarium 🦀

It was our first time going to tide pools as a family during our staycation in @downtownsanpedro 🐟

We saw lots of crabs and itty creatures, and got lucky with a tiny octopus! The weather was great for late noon in February and is only a short walk from the aquarium.

San Pedro is a historic, working-class neighborhood in the South Bay region of Los Angeles, known for its major international seaport, the Port of Los Angeles, and a strong maritime culture.

It offers a unique blend of small-town charm, diverse communities and waterfront attractions, all accessible via a free trolley.

ARCH ROCK, JOSHUA TREE 🪨🌵

This was our first hike as a family! And we got lucky with the perfect weather since we didn’t necessarily plan to do some walking 😅 luckily we had our good shoes on!

This mostly flat trail took us 15 minutes from the parking lot all the way to The Arch itself. We took turns passing our toddler to climb it (we realized we were now those kind of parents that just be free climbing our kid 🤣) but so worth it!

Its location in Joshua Tree is perfect since it’s not near either entrances so it’s not too crowded compared to other small trails.

The one thing we didn’t get to do was Heart Rock. This was a fork in the road—we decided not to take it since it took a little more hiking and walking on big rocks rather than paved areas. However we totally could have but would have been exhausted! I’d recommend coming more prepared than we did (lol) and doing the Arch AND Heart Rock (it’s a rock literally shaped like a heart!) for the photos 📸

Family roadtrip idea 💡

Coachella’s over and this California weather is amazing, so why not hit up a day trip to @joshuatreenps 🌵

Our son experienced the desert for the first time and he had such a blast chasing lizards, pointing out birds and yelling “big rock!” He’s at that perfect age of beginning to appreciate nature 🌱

Do you know which trail we took? It took about 10-15 minutes to get to the site 😎 comment your guess! by @minivacays

nothin like life on the islands 🌺

as a filipina, going to Hawaii felt like a big tease to the homeland. but being a US state, it was a home-away-from-home without breaking the bank (kind of!) and having to bust out your international trip checklist 😅

on our visit to waikiki, it amazed me that you could loop the whole island in a few hours. it was beautiful just seeing ocean, ocean, tree, ocean, ocean, bird, ocean, everywhere. it really felt like that scene when stitch tried to find the closest big city to conquer by biking every point on the island only for lilo to tell him that living on an island with no big cities was the best part 🤭 although.. waikiki is quite the walkable experience!

have you been to hawaii or planning to? I wanna know what’s on the must-see list for you! by @minivacays
