I have always been fascinated by the concept of Hephaestus-the god rejected by Olympus for his imperfections, who instead turned lava and hard labor into pure beauty deep within the heart of Mount Etna. Just as nature does. 🌋✨

In this illustration, I wanted to capture that exact contrast: the raw, destructive power of the volcano versus the delicacy of creation beneath the light of the full moon. Stylistically, I drew inspiration from ancient Greek black-figure pottery, attempting to bring that antique spirit into the modern digital space.

Because at the end of the day, every creator is a bit like Hephaestus-taking the chaos and fire within and forging it until it becomes art.

I turned a simple carousel into a tiny animated experiment 💋✨ Try scrolling the dots!

Rotoscope-style animated self-portrait sketches— drawn frame by frame (because I love to make my life harder 😁😅), with a touch of Photoshop effect in the shadows.

A few years ago, I used to create quiet books and high-contrast cards for babies — with my hands, thread, and a lot of love. 🪡
I drew my own patterns, arranged colors and textures.

I truly enjoyed making these little toys — just like back in high school. ✨

I’m not going back to sewing,
but I’m returning to that feeling:
the quiet of creation,
the connection with the child within us. 🌸

Sketch the day - # 4

✨ Happiness isn't found in places or people. It's born within us. ✨

In my opinion peace and joy are states of mind — not destinations. As an artist (and volcano lover), I often find beauty both beneath the earth's surface and within our own.

No matter where we are — on a volcano slope, in the office, or just alone with our thoughts — our joy is ours to create.

I started with hesitation… and ended up sketching a star dancer. Sometimes, all it takes is one step to create a universe. 😉

Sketch a Day – # 2
This illustration came from a moment of inspiration sparked by a simple online chat — a surreal mix of Etna’s eruptions, ladybugs in flight, and a gentle April snowfall in Sofia.
Between lava and snow, life still takes flight. 🐞❄️🌋

🌋✨ Inspired by Mount Etna’s latest eruption and the 3AM photo frenzy it caused… I had to doodle this! Because let’s be real—even volcanoes deserve some peace and quiet. 😴📸😉

This cartoon was inspired by a nice photo from @casa_di_paglia_felcerossa_etna —thank you for the night-time lava vibes!

This is also the start of my Quick Daily Doodle series—one illustration a day, mixing humor, art, and the little chaotic moments that make life interesting. 🙂

Mesopotamians - character design inspired by the artefact "City of Ur". I love to draw on historical themes.
