My point of view on #Mayday 🎬🚀

The original plan was pretty simple: join the Aerial Unit as a helicopter assistant alongside two amazing pilots, @michaelwilfordpilot and @fred_north 🚁

Somehow… I ended up strapped into the back seat of an L-39 jet, operating RED Komodos and a Raptor 😂

A month and a half of shooting, rigging cameras onto jets, prepping them between flights… and then going back up.

Hundreds of flights later: max altitude, ridiculously low level, 0 G flights, aerobatics,… and probably a few moments wondering whether that last croissant was a good idea 🥐

Definitely one of those projects that made me realize how much I love combining aviation and cinema ✈️🎥

What does it mean to fly?

For generations, humans have dreamed of leaving the ground behind. @birdlife.movie explores that dream through the evolution of modern wingsuit flying, bringing together nine of the sport's most influential pioneers and athletes from across multiple generations and nationalities.

From the earliest days of the discipline to the extraordinary athletes pushing its boundaries today, the film explores the people, progression and passion behind one of the world's most committed forms of flight.

For director Léopold le Grelle, wingsuit flying represents something uniquely pure — using minimal equipment to experience the maximum sensation of movement and freedom.

Visually striking and deeply rooted in the people who have shaped the sport, Birdlife is a celebration of the dream of flight and the relentless human desire to push beyond what seems possible.

We're honoured to present the World Premiere of Birdlife on Friday 4th September at the Charlotte Street Hotel in London as part of Holmlands Adventure Film Festival 2026.

Tickets are available now via our website and links in our story highlights: www.holmlands.co.uk
