I wish I’d known about this sooner. 🤎

This school year, I’m making my health a priority. As a teacher and a single mom, I used to think GLP-1s were financially out of reach for me—until I found @workwithbodienvi BODi ENVI.

I started my GLP-1 journey at 280 pounds. Now I’m sharing this next step with you, starting with the order, the doorstep delivery, and the unboxing. Here’s to choosing myself, too.

To the teacher moms…

The heartbeat of two homes.

Pouring into your students all day—
guiding, nurturing, showing up with patience and care…

And then going home to do it all over again
for the ones who call you “mom.”

Carrying the weight of both worlds,
often without pause, without recognition,
but always with love.

It’s not easy.
It’s not light work.

But it’s purposeful work.

You are shaping lives in your classroom
and raising them at home.

And that kind of impact…
goes far beyond what can be measured.

We see you. We honor you. We appreciate you 🤍

Because I know y’all not in here cutting up like this… 😭

walks in… no words 😌

And suddenly everybody remembers how to act.

Because it’s never really about being loud…
it’s about the expectations you’ve already set.

Relationships matter…
but so does consistency.

This year is hitting different and literally all I can do is my best. I am learning to know when I have reached my limit. It’s not about my passion it’s about my capacity. So I do my best and count it all JOY!

I don’t know what it is about this year, but I have reached capacity. After 16 years of teaching, I’m just out here surviving. But I show up… I show up

you need to romanticize your life after a long day of teaching.

coming home can be exhausting. teaching all day, momming all evening, and then walking into a home that still needs you.

so i carved out a space that was all mine. for my me time that i truly need.

my prayer patio. my peace corner. not a decor reveal, just a place to land.

chair. candle. journal. bible. that’s it.

life after burnout taught me you can’t pour from empty. you need a place to come home to yourself before you come home to everyone else.

do you have a peace corner? comment PEACE and i’ll dm you how i made mine with stuff i already had.

pt 2 of rebuilding era - coming home to peace

resetting my messy home with me.

not a perfect apartment tour. not an aesthetic reveal.

life after burnout taught me perfection was the problem. so i’m not waiting for perfect to romanticize coming home.

candle lit. pillows fluffed. peace over perfect.

is your place a little messy too? good. we’re rebuilding, not performing.

Somewhere along the way, grammar became something we were supposed to “teach in context” and hope students picked up through reading and writing.

But after grading enough essays, I’m convinced some of these skills need to be taught explicitly again.

Complete sentences. Subjects and predicates. Fragments. Run-ons. Capitalization. Commas. Punctuation. Sentence combining.

Not because we want to go back to worksheets for the sake of worksheets, but because students need the tools to communicate their ideas clearly.

Sometimes the writing problem isn’t that they don’t have anything to say. They just haven’t been taught how to build the sentence that says it.

Maybe a little old-school grammar instruction deserves a comeback. 👀

English teachers…are y’all seeing this too?

Eeeeebaaahhh!! The beginning of the school year has been bananas for me, but God has kept me. Happy HUMP DAY

Total transparency… I have been struggling keeping up with it all. (Especially content). Trying to balance teaching, parenting, and creating content feels nearly impossible. I refuse to burnout in September 🙏🏾

This is why we doing this. Just a little mid day pep talk to get me through the day.

This year, I am stepping across this threshold not with a checklist of perfection, but with a quiet, fierce boundary: I am choosing my peace. I am choosing the kind of balance that lets me be present for my child when I walk through my front door at night, rather than a depleted shell of myself.

To be entirely transparent, I don’t know where I’ll land. I don’t know what the long-term future looks like outside of these four walls, and for someone who used to need a five-year plan for everything, that used to terrify me. Today, it just feels like freedom.

If you are sitting in a season of your life where your old identity no longer fits, but you haven’t quite figured out the next chapter yet—I see you. We don’t have to have it all mapped out to take the next right step. 🤍
