![// CROWN DAY 👑
[Premier: may six | 7pm (BST)🍿]
Written and Directed by Steve Whyte
A reflective film based on the reflective novel, Crown.
Narrated by Jodie Brazeau, Starring Rebekah Bosworth, Lisa Marie Hübner, and Hannah Hoad.
Straight out of the pages and onto screen, as a woman journeys inward, she encounters the forgotten, wounded, fierce, and loving parts of herself, each one guiding her toward healing. Through every meeting, she is asked to face what trauma tried to make her believe, and to find the courage to see herself not as damaged, but as royalty beyond the pain. Yet as truth begins to rise, she is presented with a choice, and everything depends on what she decides next.
Unconventional, spiritual, and visually evocative, Crown reimagines storytelling through feeling rather than form, blending the dreamworld with the emotional, and the dystopian with the deeply human. It is a story of healing, hope and of the enduring power of the love that lives within.
At its core, CROWN is a powerful exploration of #mentalhealthawareness , emotional resilience, and the silent battles so many people fight behind closed doors. Through symbolic storytelling and immersive visuals, the film shines a light on inner struggle, depression, anxiety, trauma, loneliness, and the unseen weight carried by those who appear strong on the surface. It speaks to suicide prevention awareness by reminding audiences that pain is often invisible, and that compassion, connection, and conversation can save lives. Rather than glorifying suffering, CROWN offers hope, healing, self-worth, and the courage to keep going when the mind feels at war with itself. It is a moving call to check in on others, to speak openly about mental wellbeing, and to remember that even in darkness, recovery is possible, support exists, and every life holds value.
