More housing does not mean building more of the same.

At MMC Vancouver, Nadine LeBlanc from CMHC spoke with Frances Bula about why Canada needs the right supply in the right places.

Missing middle housing is growing across the country, but there is still more work to do to create the homes communities need.

From changing market conditions to the role of collaboration in accelerating housing delivery, this conversation explored what comes next for the industry.

The conversation continues at MMC Toronto, November 16–17.

“This is the first conference I’ve been to where every stakeholder has a voice.”
- David Pour, on MMC Vancouver.

Government, CMHC, developers, and consultants rarely end up in the same room. We build MMC that way on purpose, because the problems in missing middle housing sit in the space between them.

Governments buying unsold condo units has reignited a familiar debate.

Whatever your view, the proposal points to a bigger question: what happens when the financing behind new housing no longer matches the market it’s trying to serve?

It’s why we bring the missing middle ecosystem together every year. Some questions can’t be answered from one side of the table.

Every project eventually reaches the point where it has to answer the same questions.

Does the proforma work? Is the team right? Does the approvals strategy hold up? What happens if the market changes?

Developer’s Den gives five developers the opportunity to answer those questions in front of experienced investor judges and the wider missing middle ecosystem, all in one afternoon.

We’re now looking for partners to join us in Toronto this November.

If you’d like to put your organization in the room with the people financing, building and shaping missing middle housing, we’d love to hear from you.

Solid housing projects in Canada are stalling not because they aren’t viable, but because the financing isn’t there.

Developer’s Den puts credible mid-density projects in front of capital, questioned seriously.

And we have a few spots open on the judges panel. If you have experience in development, investment, lending, or delivery, apply via the link in bio.
