House update! We added these plywood shelves to our rental. They look like builtins but were made in three sections so we can remove and repurpose if we movee out. They were built in 3 sections. We left the edge of the plywood exposed instead of adding face frames for a cottage style. I loved the idea of having a bench for my son which also gave us the perfect opportunity for record storage underneath. I’m still trying to decide on fabric so I can make a cushion. I love the asymmetry. The large openings are a fun way to display art. Another detail that works for us is we built the lowest shelf by the couch to be at side table height. Perfect for our small living room. If I could have all of my furniture built in I would honestly! Material is birch plywood and I used Minwax natural to stain. I may end up adding plywood doors to the bottom to add some closed storage but TBD. #shelfie #builtins #cottagestyle #beachhouse by @mixedmatters_

Adding curb appeal to our restaurant with a buoy wall. We installed them with simple screws and packed the buoys as tightly as we could. Our building is painted a dark green so all the colors really pop and make the front of the restaurant a little more eye catching. To get it where I want it to be, I need just a few more so I’ll be on the lookout, but loving it so far! #carolinabeachnc #wilmingtonnc #buoywall #coastaldesign by @mixedmatters_
