Hey there novelists!
Day 3 was a somber day. We got to honor my dad's last wish. He wanted to be buried with his mother ( my grandmother) in Puerto Rico. This was one of the hardest days for me for SO MANY REASONS. It made leaving the island that much harder, but he's finally at rest. I'm sad, but happy that I was able to be there for his last wish.

Please watch to get to know who my dad was and how I became the awesome nerd I am today. by @mj.novels

Puerto Rico Day 2 was amazing! We went to a nice little beach called La Posa De Don Guelo. The water was so clear that you could see your feet in the water. Even the temperature of the water was great! I had a great time meeting some new cousins and spending time with my familia. #PuertoRico by @mj.novels

THIS BOOK! OH MY GOD!!! The Dead Of Summer was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish I was intrigued. The emotional ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTIONS!!! I cried 3 times at least. And that ending! Such a cliff hanger!

If you have not read Dead Of Summer by @theryanlasala GO DO IT! The sequel #BodiesOfWater comes out April 7th and I am soooo excited to read it soon. by @mj.novels

Hey there novelists! Welcome to Puerto Rico!!! This is actually my first time EVER stepping foot here. I came in through San Juan and we went to a nice little diner like restaurant. We found a few shops. I bought some earrings from a street vendor. Then we went to Arecibo. Checked out a few places. Its been so nice here. I met some family members and they were so nice. There was no judgements or looks like I thought I would get.

In Arecibo I saw a little lizard in my aunts backyard. I also saw stray animals like dogs and gets. by @mj.novels

Hey their novelists! On October 15th I went to the @twistedspinebooks to see the book release of Your Beloved Remains by Quinn Conner @quinn.connor.writes, a duo partnership between the @robyn_goodfellow_ and @_alexcronin. It was inspiring to see how two people worked so well together in order to complete a book. They went into detail how they broke down the tasks and characters. I can't wait to read this book! We even heard the audio book actor do a reading of Your Beloved Remains! The even was facilitated by the extraordinary @theryanlasala . They all looked fabulous in their botanical outfits. I was so excited to see Ryan La Sala and he gave me an ARC of Bodies of Water! Ahhhhh! I'm so ecstatic! Two amazing books just waiting to be read. by @mj.novels

It's never to late to celebrate #LatinxHeritageMonth! I am happy to share some of my favorite Latinx books and some tha I cannot wait to read. by @mj.novels

Hey there novlists! I couldn’t let #LatinxHeritage without sharing an amazing experience I had earlier this month. On October 1st I went to the book release of #SomethingFollowUsHome, a latinx horror anthology, edited by Cynthia Peleyo. I got to meet some amazing authors. I was able to meet Cynthia Peleyo @cynthiapelayoauthor, Leopaldo Gault @leopoldoleopoldo, Alex Segura @alexsegurajr, and Ananda Lima @anandalima. I was sad that @zoraidasolo couldn’t make it (hope you feel better!!), but was happy when I heard she was part of this anthology.

The moment of the night for me was when I got to meet Cynthia Peleyo and I asked her “What do you recommend for a 3rd generation Puerto Rican who wants to write about PR but doesn’t feel Puerto Rican enough?” She told me “You don’t need anyone's permission to speak your truth. You are Puerto Rican and when you go to the island your spirit will know it. (I am going to Puerto Rico for the first time at the end of this month) You won’t have to worry about people judging you. You will feel home.” When she said that, it brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you for that moment because I have always struggled with my identity as a Puerto Rican and feeling like an imposter. by @mj.novels

Hey there novelists! LIFE UPDATE: I HAVE A NEW FUR BABY! Her name is Billie.
She was originally my bf's niece's cat that loves Billie Eilish, but couldn't keep her. I had fallen in love with her. I promised his niece that I'll keep her name. She's such a sweetheart I'm so glad that I could keep her and that his niece could still have her in her life. (I love his niece as if she were my own)

My hope is that Grandpa will have a companion when I'm at work and when he's home alone and I get a cuddle cat that I love so much and mouse hunter to keep them at bay. So now I have TWO fur babies. Sunny at Mom's house and Billie at grandpa's house. She's 7-8 months old. by @mj.novels

Hey there novelists! Come with me as I go to one of my favorite bookstores the @twistedspinebooks ! This weekend was their anniversary! The twisted spine is an amazing horror themed independent bookstores located in Brooklyn. I even hung out with my #BFF @jeff_of_allmedia by @mj.novels

Hey there novelists! Today I make 4 years working in a library. I can't say it's all been sunshine and rainbows, but I do love working in a place where I can work with books and do programs I like, like creative writing and book clubs. by @mj.novels
