Exhibition in Paris : done ✅

Sooooooo I had my first exhibition in Paris.
Six months ago I was desperately refreshing my follower count.
Last week I had a vernissage in Paris.
The algorithm remains unbothered. So do I. 😏

It was a good experience, great opportunity, raw emotions, new memories 🖤

👽✨

Présentation en français :

Salut. Moi c’est Marie-Laure.
Et voici mon art.

Est-ce du figuratif ? De l’abstrait ? Les deux ? Peu importe. C’est de la magie. Et au moins, c’est pas de l’IA.

J’aime les gens bruts. Authentiques.

MLSZ.

I left boring jobs to be free. Not to trade one prison for another.
No signature style. No rules. Just whatever my brain decides at 11pm with a marker in my hand.

People will tell you to pick something and stick to it. I made it several times, it ended in catastrophy.
Btw, those people often have a very tidy instagram feeds and very little fun.

I make what I want, when I want, how I want.
And somehow, that’s the most professional decision I’ve ever made.

Follow me if you’re done asking for permission too.
I know you like me to give you orders 😏

Same artist. Three phases. Zero consistency. Total honesty.

When I say I’m cyclical, it’s not a metaphor.
It’s a menstrual cycle with an art practice.
Add to this wonderful cycle some cerebral spices. Et voilà.

That’s why my abstract, figurative, unique, colorful art never looks the same twice.
Hormones are my creative director 🥸

If you always feel like somebody’s watching you,
It might be because somebody really is. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Bloody Moon and Mr Crow.
Did you notice his fancy shoes ??? 🖤✨

This is my digital artwork for @thetuesdaycollective this week and I really enjoyed it as always.

Dear algorithm,
I’m not asking for much.
Just the weirdos. Outsiders. Raw people.
The Kenneths and Karens can stay where you found them.
Follow if you’re not normal. I checked, it’s a great sign. 🖤
Normal people scare me. But…
Outside the box is very sexy to me 🖤

Yes this is based on a true story, about Kenneth giving his unwanted opinion about what I do.
I was not in the mood to educate him because he obviously was boring me.
But thanks to this story I can make some content and connect with my people.
So, gratitude for Kenneth and welcome to the people who will read this carrousel and also the caption.
You are cutie patooties 🖤🖤🖤

3615 mylife, askip les hashtags sont morts, j’ai encore utilisé du rose alors que c’est même pas ma couleur préférée, je parle franglish comme JCVD, I love my faux fur coat, je suis cyclique pas linéaire, being cyclical is not a flaw, it’s just hard to understand when you don’t have a cycle. Period. Je me suis surpassée pour ce jeu de mots qu’on ne peut comprendre qu’en anglais. by @ml.szlapka.art

Seems like Kenneth is the new Karen.
Obviously. 😏

True story :
A man told me I was still searching for my path.
Because I paint abstract one day and punk the next.
Kenneth.
I’m not searching anything.
I’m being myself, all of it, all at once.
I create with my cycle, my neurodivergence, and zero apologies.
My art is non-linear because I am.
Some people will never understand that.
Particularly the ones without a cycle.
And that’s fine.
This isn’t for them anyway. 🖤

Long time I didn’t draw something digitally !
Here is my entry for @thetuesdaycollective this week : a skeleton flower
Didn’t know this kind of beauty existed, immediately imagined it in a gloomy atmosphere
With a little butterfly and some stars for the whimsical touch ✨

No plan. Just my sacred heart. In a church. 😌
I always had a thing with churches.
The architecture. The silence. The drama.
Turns out they had a thing for me too 🖤
New exhibition in Belgium this time. In an amazing place as you can see.
Can’t wait to see how it will look like with the artworks of other artists 🖤

Yes it’s the Mobland series soundtrack because why not 💅

Close up on « Sacred Heart » (last slide in video)
Yes it’s pink again. Punk. And loud.
Tattoo inspired, of course.
A lot of noise, bold choices and layers.
Just like me : I am a big sensitive onion 🧅 and make you cry when you cut me. 🙂‍↔️
Thanks for reading 🖤
