Lola crossed the rainbow bridge a week ago today. 🌈 I've been avoiding making this post because somehow writing this out makes it too real. We miss her so much. When we came back from our weekend in DC, we noticed that Lola had a mysterious lump on her neck, and her purrs sounded strange. We took her to the vet, did tests, tried medications, kept an eye on her. The vets were not sure what it was. We were scheduling a CT scan to see if we could get more information. When we returned from Hilton Head, she had clearly declined, despite the great care from our sitter. The lump was larger. She would only eat liquids when we brought them to her. She spent all day and night in her blanket. She couldn't meow, would have choking fits, drooling and obviously uncomfortable. Over the week she seemed to get worse each day. It was heartbreaking to watch her suffering. We called the vet and wanted Lola's primary doctor to see her before we went through with the CT (which requires general anesthesia). Fortunately she was able to see us first thing Thursday morning. At the appointment the doctor shared that although we couldn't be sure, she thought the lump was an aggressive cancer. The CT would tell us more, but the location on her neck meant that surgery would be risky or impossible. Watching Lola choking and wheezing was painful. We made the difficult decision to end her suffering. I miss her constantly. She was so special. She came to us as a re-homing and I treasure every moment we had together. 💔 #Lola #Sphynx #RainbowBridge #Love #Heartbroken by @mlalexis
I'm a huge coconut lover, so was super excited when @influenster invited me to try this antiperspirant from @secretdeodorant. But more importantly, what did Boogie think about it? 😹 @influenster @secretdeodorant #complimentary #giftedbysecret #fresherunderpressure by @mlalexis
Sunday is for Ravens football and sofa time! Ben tried the new 7UP... But he says it tastes the same as the original. Do you taste a difference between the lime-lemon and lemon-lime? 🍋‍🟩🍋 @influenster @7UP #complimentary #7UP #limelemon by @mlalexis
Is your cat slacking off at the biscuit factory? Sleeping on the job? Fighting coworkers for the best sunbeam? 😼 You never have to go without biscuits again, now that the Red Lobster famous cheddar bay biscuits are available in the freezer! 🦞 @influenster @redlobster #complimentary #CheddarBayBiscuitBites #Sleepy #Sphynx by @mlalexis
Influenster really wanted me to review these bagged mini bagels... But Target really didn't. It took multiple trips over multiple months to finally find these in stock (you can see how excited I was to finally get my hands on this in the first pic!) But let's be real: nothing will ever compare to a fresh NY or @thb.bagelry.deli bagel. As a born and raised New Yorker, my standards are HIGH. 🥯 @influenster @daveskillerbread #complimentary #daveskiller #gifted by @mlalexis
