Lil impromptu jam with the homie @rafaelunplugged in my home studio. We like to have a good time; I am privileged to call him my friend. Check out Rafa’s work if you haven’t already!

Video is from May, 2020 during the full blown COVID pandemic. Moses and Matthew graced the neighborhood with their talents. Posting with the artists’ permission. Yes, @mo6strings had short hair 😉. It’s amazing to experience these young artists come into their professional musical careers. 🔥Love you both! ❤️🥰. by @rafaelunplugged

As requested by @_t.3.o.p_ here is part II of “Coming Home” by Avenged Sevenfold, which would include one of my favorite solos ever written. Here’s my rendition of it 🤘🏼

When words fail to communicate what goes on in our heads, sometimes yah gotta pick up your instrument and let the life experience do the talking. No words. No thoughts. Just feelings —in this case— on a fretboard.

I had originally intended to do an exercise video but I got distracted with this tremolo picking idea because it really tapped into something and it felt like my fingers wouldn’t let it go because it felt too good. That’s why we play these instruments. It just feels good. It’s a release.

Single coils with high gain and an octave pedal is just good time. Here’s a little clip of some improv practice.

Revisiting “Enemy Inside” by Dream Theater, this time in context with the other parts. This song was actually my introduction to this band.

I tend to use it to practice counting and it also forces me to be more mindful of how I’m picking and what kind of string noise I need to mitigate. Also, it’s just fun to play 😁
