Can desire become be a form of cultural currency?

We’re proud to announce that MoAa is now representing Collecteur @thecollecteur a Los Angeles-based artist whose work explores desire, luxury, value, and the cultural systems through which meaning is assigned and performed.

Drawing from fashion, collectible design, consumer culture, and contemporary art, Collecteur creates AI-generated imagery, objects, and sculptural propositions that collapse distinctions between collector and collected, subject and object, while examining how value is constructed, coveted, and distributed.

Working with generative AI—a technology that has no innate understanding of desire, status, or luxury—Collecteur exploits the tension between human aspiration and machine interpretation. Trained only on the visual residue of our collective fantasies, AI reconstructs the symbols of taste and value without ever experiencing them.

Freed from the functional and social frameworks that govern human desire, luxury objects begin to mutate. They become excessive, impractical, and uncanny—not because AI misunderstands luxury, but because it understands only its visual language, untethered from function or lived desire. In doing so, Collecteur reveals the point at which design gives way to conceptual art, asking not simply what we desire—but why.

The Collecteur’s sculptural fashion artwork, Death by Nostalgia, was recently featured in the inaugural Los Angeles County Museum of Art @lacma parade curated by Jeffrey Deitch @jeffreydeitchgallery

👀 Watch this space for upcoming drops, exhibitions, and collection releases.

Collecting the Future of Contemporary Art.

We’re pleased to share that signed limited edition framed works from I Miei Ricordi: AI Dreams, Hallucinations and Memories—MoAa’s inaugural exhibition—are now available on @artsy

Bringing together twelve international artists, I Miei Ricordi explores the space where human memory and synthetic imagination converge. Rather than using AI to replicate reality, the exhibition invited artists to ask what happens when a synthetic consciousness—born from our collective cultural memory—begins to dream, hallucinate, imagine speculative futures, and generate an entirely new genre of contemporary art.

At MoAa, we believe the artists working with emerging technologies today are helping define the future of contemporary art. As this field continues to evolve, we’re proud to make these museum-quality editions available to collectors worldwide through @artsy the world’s leading marketplace for collecting contemporary art.

AN ESSAY ON AI, IMAGE-MAKING, AND DERRIDA’S PHARMAKON

Rather than asking whether AI is good or bad, we might ask:

How is AI transforming the conditions through which images are created, circulated, interpreted, and valued?

This provocation explores generative AI art through Derrida’s concept of the pharmakon and situates it within the broader history of technological disruption in art.

Photography externalized vision.

Generative AI may externalize imagination.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the New Materialities exhibition preview during the @labiennale pre-opening week in Venice.

Presented by Museum of Artificial Art (MoAa) at @cadidio_ the sunset aperitivo art salon gathered curators, collectors, artists, and press around a shared question: what happens when computational and Gen AI-driven artistic practices move beyond the screen into physical form?

Inspired by the experimental spirit of @lacma’s landmark 1960s Art & Technology program, New Materialities pairs contemporary computational and AI-driven artistic practices with industry and craft studios, translating digital processes into physical form through textiles, ceramics, metal, light & color theory, and site-specific installation.

Across the exhibition, works explored identity, ontology, mythology, perception, and phenomenology through hybrid material practices and computational aesthetics—positioning AI and creative code not simply as tools, but as emerging artistic mediums shaping contemporary culture.

More than an exhibition, the evening became a meeting point for a growing international community engaged in the next wave of art and technology.

Something is shifting in how images exist. At Ca’ di Dio in Venice, the Museum of Artificial Art (MoAa) brings together a group of artists for New Materialities, a moment where AI moves beyond the screen and into the physical world. Textile, ceramic, aluminum and light each hold a different translation of the digital into form.

It feels less like an exhibition and more like a signal. A cultural shift where image becomes object and presence replaces representation.

For one evening, artists, collectors and curators gather at the edge of this transition.

We are watching something begin.

The Gran Façade was exhibited at the 2026 @labiennale , suspended within the façade of @cadidio_ as a monumental 3x4 meter installation — a work suspended between memory, image, and performance.

This piece originates from a memory of Southern Italy, where domestic life intertwined with rituals of display and sharing, transforming everyday existence into a collective stage. Clothes, jewels, and ornaments become symbols of a carefully constructed identity shown to the world. A vivid and colorful façade that conceals fragility, nostalgia, and complexity beneath its surface.

Being part of such an extraordinary context has been an immense honor.

A heartfelt thank you to @mirror_mirage and @museum_of_artificial_art for this incredible opportunity.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an intimate gathering of the cultural community during the @labiennale pre-opening week.

Set within the courtyard of @cadidio_ the evening brought together curators, collectors, artists, designers, technologists, and press for generative conversations around an emerging genre, a new cultural renaissance, and curating the future of art.

The salon also offered a preview of select works from New Materialities—inspired by the @lacma 1960s Art & Technology program, the exhibition concept explores the intersection of AI and new media within contemporary practice as it takes physical form through collaborations with industry and craft studios spanning textiles, ceramics, metal, and site-specific installation.

The works explored themes of identity, ontology, phenomenology and mythology, through computational image-making and hybrid material practices.

Grateful to all who shared the evening with us and helped shape such a thoughtful and inspiring exchange.
