See every now and then... we gotta show'em how we do it. They wasn't ready for this. MODULA! Let's go!! LAX on the red carpet at the HIMAwards. MODULA - winners for Best Album. The Unmentionables: Book I out now exclusively on @applemusic. by @modula_music
The Unmentionables: Book I is the Hollywood Independent Music Award winner for Best Album. This was the first full body of work from MODULA, the album LAX and Day built after coming together as a team. They flew to four cities, ATL, Miami, LA, and Las Vegas, set up a studio in the living room of a B&B, and pulled in some of the most talented artists in the game. Twelve songs, thirty-nine minutes, no label in the room deciding what any of it should be. Last night a body of independent music’s most respected voices called it the best album of the year. This one belongs to everyone who built it with us: Noiramad, Jai Vaughn, HDQTRS, J. Keba, Teezy Fontaine, Jonquia Rose, Jayna Elise, Nyne Forte, Zhanel, Elly Tran, Ayesha Camille, Shiré, Jagwar Dot, Velt Bentley, Jalito, Tosha Marie, Collin Derrick, Soul the Prophet/Mike Blair, Steven Leo Breland, and Jay Wells. We work with artists and creators ready to build something worth remembering. Message us here. Go stream The Unmentionables: Book I by MODULA now exclusively on @applemusic by @modula_music
Might need to make so more room on the shelf lol. Album of the year!!! Thank you so much @him_awards for recognizing our piece of work! Me and @laxtheproducer came together and formed @modula_music and this was our first full body of work to display our mind child. Literally flew to 4 cities (ATL, MIA, LA, and Vegas), set up a studio in our B&B's living room and collaborated with some of the most talented in this game. We created moments and provided an experience that exudes through the project! 1 of 1.... well, let's continue next year.... #GoinUnder by @modula_music
Two nominations at the @him_awards Hollywood Independent Music Awards, July 30 in Hollywood. The Unmentionables: Book I — Album. “Anchors” feat. Day Underscore & Jayna Elise — R&B/Soul. by @modula_music
I made one introduction. It ended with a Grammy winning producer cast in an Emmy winner’s series. @drlouisjonesofficial reached out. We connected. I was already working with @laxtheproducer I saw the alignment before either of them did. So I made the introduction.
They had lunch. Built the relationship. Took it from there. Casting opened for @manhood_universe LAX submitted. LAX made the cut. ManHOOD is a series for the culture. It centers Black men. Real stories. Real growth. Brotherhood, fatherhood, healing, accountability. Created and written by Dr. Louis Jones. Emmy winner, psychologist, Guinness World Record holder. A full ensemble of Black talent, on screen and behind it. None of this happens by accident. It happens in the right rooms, through the right introductions, because someone said your name when you weren’t there. by @modula_music
Most artist campaigns are just posting and hoping. This was different. We built a full system around @lovetonyrush before a single post went live. Brand workshop. Vision alignment. Rollout strategy. Production planning. Then execution. Swipe to see how it all came together. @lovetonyrush came in with real talent, a story worth telling, and music that deserved to be heard. What was missing wasn’t effort. It was infrastructure. No visual system. No content strategy. No rollout plan. My job was to build all of it from scratch and make sure the audience found the artist before they found the music. Swipe to see what we built. I flew to Chicago in the middle of winter. Snowboarding pants on because it was that cold. No big production budget. No studio rental. We kept costs down by sourcing an @airbnb that doubled as our primary shoot location, giving us full control of the space and free reign to shoot lifestyle content, performance clips, BTS, portraits, and interviews all under one roof. Then we took it outside to the train platform and rooftop for the cinematic sets. I stepped into the videographer and editor role for the first time, shot the interview content myself, edited the reels, and delivered. Smart production planning turned two days in Chicago into three months of scheduled content. Swipe to see what came from it. I didn’t hire a videographer. I became one. I took everything I’d built as a photographer, my eye for lighting, my understanding of how light shapes a subject, how it sets tone, how it tells a story before anyone says a word, and I brought that directly into video for the first time. Same instincts. New format. Then I taught myself color grading and editing. Studied it. Applied it. Refined it until the footage looked the way it needed to look. Better color grade. Tighter captions with @descript_app and @modula_music underneath. Every reel intentional. By the end of that trip I had shot, edited, and delivered a full content library. No videographer on the invoice. No editor on retainer. Just a skillset I expanded because the project required it and I wasn’t going to let cost be the reason the work suffered. That’s the part most people don’ by @modula_music

Check me out in the new VoyageLA magazine in the Local Stories section. 📸: @drew__rush, @iamjeromedotson, @musicadeapp 🎵: @modula_music ------- Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamar Alexander. Hi Lamar, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself. I’ve always been drawn to creating experiences—music just happened to be the first outlet that made that real for me. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, and my creative journey actually started with dance before I transitioned into music production and recording. That early foundation in movement and rhythm still influences how I approach music and storytelling today. I moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, where I was able to refine my craft and gain early industry exposure through opportunities like interning at Aftermath Entertainment. After graduating, I relocated to Los Angeles to fully pursue my career and begin building within the industry at a higher level. From there, my path expanded naturally. I stepped into recording engineering, vocal production, and live event production, while also pursuing acting. Along the way, I had the opportunity to work with Muni Long, which led to becoming a Grammy-winning producer—an experience that really affirmed the direction I was heading in. I currently operate as a multi-hyphenate creative and co-founder of MODULA, with my recording studio based in Downtown Los Angeles. I’m focused on building projects that blend music, culture, and experience, while continuing to grow in acting and develop larger-scale creative ventures. Everything I’ve done up to this point has been about creating work that’s not only impactful in the moment, but has longevity and meaning behind it. ------ Read more at the link in bio. by @modula_music

There’s a lot of talent in Chicago. But talent alone isn’t enough to build a thriving scene. Something’s not connecting. What do you think is missing? CC: @iamjeromedotson by @modula_music
I've worked with artists, labels, and studios across the country. The ones who break through are almost never the ones with the biggest budget or the best timing. They're the ones who built the infrastructure first. Who understood that culture is a currency — and you accumulate it long before you spend it. The room has to be ready before the product arrives. That's the pattern. Every time. Marketing @modula_music Founder of @musicadeapp Photos by @jeromescamera Connect with me 🙏🏽🚶🏽‍♂️ by @modula_music
