A little celebration today! 🥳 One of my images is featured in the latest issue of Heartful Magazine. This platform has existed to show the full spectrum of parenthood. The chaos, the difficult, the joy, the fun, the silly, and the tender. Out of thousands of submissions, and photographers from all around the globe, mine was chosen. I am so honored. *cue the tears and confetti* by @mollym_photo
Quite a few new faces around here - so I figured I’d re-introduce myself. Hi, I’m Molly! ✨ I’m an enneagram 8, a capricorn, and the eldest daughter. Iykyk. I feel intensely about everything. I love my kids (Eden and Oliver) with every single fiber of my being and have worked so hard to create a peaceful, silly, and stable environment for them to grow up in. I’m married to a West African, Suah, who still lives there (we’ll save that story for another time). While my passport says American.. I know that my soul is at least part Liberian. Once upon a time I founded an NGO. It was all consuming and some of the best and worst times of my life. When I was pregnant with my daughter all of that came to a crashing halt and I was lost. To be honest, I had been lost for a while. Eden helped me find who I was again. Life had been far too serious for far too long and my babies brought the magic back. I’m an iced coffee in all seasons, book in my bag, the grass is greener where you water it, realest, feminist, writes my own rules, stands up for others, wish on a dandelion kind of woman. And I’m proud of that. This is my 10th year as a photographer and I have only just now gotten to a place where I don’t feel like an imposter. Where I feel like I have something to give to the art world and a new found confidence in my work. I suppose that kind of matches the flow of my personal life and how I now feel that I know who I am... and what I create flows from that. I love photographing those of you who are unapologetically obsessed with the season you’re in. There’s no comparison. No pinterest boards. Only the presence. Isn’t that all we have? I get to stop time in these incredibly important moments. It’s actually the best job in the entire world and I will forever be pinching myself. by @mollym_photo
An absolute honor to have my images selected for @mthrmagazine this fall! ✨ Being vulnerable with my work was scary. Is scary. And always will be scary. It’s an incredible moment when your art is chosen, published, and printed. These magazines understand that families and mothers should be celebrated through photography. This gives me so much joy and drive to keep capturing you in your safe spaces! by @mollym_photo

But here’s the truth: you don’t need to look perfect, you just need to show up. These aren’t for the curated feed, these are for your heart. ________________ new york city photographer charlotte photographer in home session documentary photography family photographer by @mollym_photo

Six months ago, I shot my first official in-home session to use as promo for the business I wanted to build. I am so proud of my accomplishments in just a short amount of time! I really do feel the most excited, creative, and fulfilled when I capture you and your families in your safe spaces. To each client who has invited me into their lives during these special moments, thank you. Here’s to the next 6 months and where it will take me! ________________ new york city photographer charlotte photographer in home session documentary photography family photographer by @mollym_photo
