THE PAPERBACK 😍

Jan 2026 🦡

Thank you @zahraanesdesign for working your magic by @monikaradojevic

Been holding onto this since March… THRILLED to announce I’m back at @merkybooks for two whole fiction books. My debut short story collection, AND my debut novel. I can’t believe I get to write about women the way I want to write about women, I can’t believe I get to write the story of my parents - a story so romantic it has forever poeticised my views of love. A huge thanks to my amazing agent @abirfellows for not even blinking when I said to her over the phone ‘I want a two book contract…but I’ve not written a word of the second one’ and for making my literary dreams come to life. And thank you to @merkybooks (now award winning!) for having me back!!! by @monikaradojevic

Ideas for hard times (you need someone with a Halloween birthday for this one): gather twelve women and rent a spooky house in a quiet village that comes with creaking floorboards and dying, dead flies. Possibly the spirits of small children (tbd). There will be excellent food and strong cocktails and witchcraft. There will be a vintage boutique selling white nightgowns from the 1920s. There will be a shallow canal and you will search for faces in its mirrored surface. There will be candle wax on the tables and sometimes the speakers won’t connect. Cake at midnight. An entire book read aloud to each other. Everyone will take turns to wash the dishes and say kind things. Most essential will be a gentle animal for the night the veil is thinnest. by @monikaradojevic
