I guess after 14 years, you’re too busy living life together to remember what day it is. And that’s exactly how we forgot our anniversary yesterday 😂

We started this journey as two kids with big dreams. Somehow, those dreams became our real life—building a family, seeing the world, chasing new adventures, and growing through every season together.

Still my favorite travel partner. Still my favorite adventure.

Alhamdulillah for 14 years ❤️

It has been 13 years but I remember this weekend and the chaos ever so vividly.

Mehndi: 102 degrees outside. My floral jewelry not up to expectations. My caterer messes up the order and we’re frantically trying to salvage what they have. Saifs family not arriving until 10 pm. Dinner being served at 11 pm. My uncle cutting off dances so some Pakistani singer can sing. But the night went on until 4 AM. My dinner that night was Gulab jamun and ladoos.

Wedding: Venue doesn’t have a stage as big as we hoped, stage decorator has to alter the plans to accommodate. I lost one contact so I could only see from one eye the whole night 😂. Again saif and I don’t eat the whole night. I had a RBF the entire time until my mom yelled at me to smile.

Valima: there was a thunderstorm that wiped out power for all of Addison. My venue didn’t have a generator. We’re frantically looking to get one from anywhere in the Chicagoland area but no luck. My stage decorator set up the stage in complete darkness and in 100 degrees. We’re looking for a backup venue and at 830 we book a small one by our house. It can only fit 80 people, no decor, no stage, they offer us paper plates for our guests. My outdoor Valima shoot is cancelled. More than half our guests go to the original venue and end up going home.

The cherry on top was my wedding videographer losing all our footage so we don’t have a wedding video 🤡

Despite all this - we still made it. From these pictures you can’t tell how much chaos we dealt with behind the scenes. We still had an epic wedding — and an even more EPIC marriage for the last 13 years, Alhamdulillah.

And there’s a place that we’ve dreamed of 🤍

Sister Social was created from something so simple, yet so meaningful: the need for connection. 🤍

A space where sisters can come as they are, meet new faces, share a laugh, have real conversations, and build friendships that go beyond a single event.

Because sometimes, all we need is a room full of women who understand us, a little laughter, genuine conversation, and the feeling of belonging.

Our hope is that every sister who walks into Sister Social leaves feeling a little more connected, a little more uplifted, and knowing she has a space where she belongs. 🫶🏼

Created with love and hosted by yours truly,
Zuni & Mehreen 🤍

Here’s to meaningful connections, new friendships, and sisterhood that feels like home. 🤍

Welcome to Sister Social. ✨
