Happy Lion’s Gate 🪞

Step 1: write down what you’re “manifesting” — is it money, a relationship, your dream house?

Step 2: get clear on what you’re wanting with that thing and write it down— for example, if you’re manifesting $10k+ months in your business, are you wanting more ease and freedom? If you’re attracting your dream relationship are you wanting more acceptance?

Step 3: write down an extensive list (no matter how small) of everything that you already have in your life that makes you feel that feeling

Step 4: Feel it in your body. Allow yourself to be present with all of the ways that what you want is currently here!

*a big mistake people make here is they compare themselves to where they currently are and where they want to be. This puts us into a place of lack and discontentment.

The more than we can train ourselves to recognize what’s currently here we are able to:

→ Feel happier NOW with what we currently have (which is the KEY because I know so many very wealthy people who have gotten to their goals and they don’t actually feel the fulfillment or whatever they were going after in the first place.. this step helps you actually get what you want at a deeper level).

→ Amplify that feeling (no matter how small) and grow upon what’s already here — this makes that reality feel more accessible/feel possible to us because we can already feel it

BONUS: get an app like Parrot and record yourself reading the list of ways you already have what you want. Set it on a 30 minute timer as you fall asleep (this can help bring in repetitions to your reticular activation system and I’ve found helps sink into my subconscious better).

How to know who’s in what category 👇🏼

Living room people: listen to your needs and help you feel safe. They respect your boundaries and show up for you when you need it. They are consistent, steady, and a trustworthy presence in your life. In the best case scenarios this is reciprocal but there are situations where it’s not..

Porch people: you talk about work, weather, and what’s going on with the kids. You may get into politics, back and forth about sports, and even some of the stressors of life but it stays more at surface level. There’s still love, companionship, and care there but it’s a different level of vulnerability.

Mailbox people: you send a funny meme or holiday card but they’re in your relatively outer orbit. These are the loose connections that may be newer friends, more distant family, or people you’ve grown apart from who aren’t actively in your day to day life.

PS - I was just talking to my mom on the phone about this analogy and we came up with another one.. there’s also “bathroom people.” These are the people who you’re okay to have in the bathroom with you while you’re peeing or in the shower 👀 (next level of intimacy)!

If this analogy was helpful for you send it to someone else that may need to hear it and if you want to learn how to regulate your nervous system so you can be your best self in relationships (and be a magnet for secure healthy love), comment the word “ROUTINE” below! by @morgan.starr.riestis

What you need to rewire your brain + patterns 👇🏼

1. Repetitions — your brain listens to what you do over and over and over again. When you do something on repeat, your brain hears “I need to create a shortcut (or a neural pathway) to save me energy so I can save some energy by putting it on autopilot.”

2. A systematic way to get these repetitions and make sure you’re on the right track — when I say repetitions, I mean it! It takes a baby over 2k steps to learn how to walk before it becomes more automatic.. you’ve really gotta get in your reps when you want to change a pattern.. (think of how many times it takes to walk across that field before you think “I prefer this way.”)

Given that.. you need a system that’s going to keep you lovingly on track. As James Clear says, “you do not rise to the level of your goals.. you fall to the level of your systems.”

This is where my proven routine and system comes in. It helps you rewire these neural pathways and patterns all the while bringing your holistic health into balance and regulating your nervous system 🧠

The secret to being magnetic is to feel safe being seen 👀

When you have a regulated nervous system people feel naturally drawn to you.

They feel calm around you. And like you just have that je ne said quoi, or that thing you can’t quite place a finger on but you want more of.

It’s a quality of presence. It’s being able to fully be yourself.

This is a developed skill that sets you up for success in every area of life. If you want to learn how, comment the word “ROUTINE” below 🧲 by @morgan.starr.riestis

The brain needs certain things to be happy and..

its not very good at determining what those things are.

Thankfully because of studies that have been done we can see that the top things that quantifiably bring us happiness are healthy relationships, having purpose in our daily habits, and feeling like we have enough time.

The good news is that with small daily habits, we can train our brains to be happier. If you’d like to learn how with a routine + system that helps you rewire your brain, regulate your nervous system, bring your holistic health into balance comment the word “ROUTINE” below 💌 by @morgan.starr.riestis

Neuroscience backed ways to get luckier

1. Say that you’re lucky all the time, even about the smallest things - “I’m lucky I always get the best parking spots. I’m lucky I got all green lights on the way to work.” There is research around those who believe themselves to be lucky are because they’ve trained their reticular activating system to tuned into opportunities in front of them - in other words, people who believe they are lucky have trained their brains to see the $100 bill on the ground in front of them, where those who believe they are unlucky won’t see it at all and will walk right past.

2. Vary your inputs - this means approaching the stranger, changing up your routine, and doing new things. Research shows that those who do this have more lucky breaks. Not only does novelty trigger dopamine which puts your brain is a more open, exploratory state, by increasing your variety, you’re also giving more surface area for luck to land with the new person you talk to, the new room you walk into, etc.

3: Learn how to regulate your nervous system because when you’re dysregulated, an important part of your brain called the prefrontal cortex goes offline which keeps you contracted, small, scared, and not seeing opportunities right in front of you.

But when you’re regulated, your brain is in its optimal level of functioning. You’re more likely to take risks that pay off, you give off magnetic energy, and you quite literally create more surface area for luck to land.

If you want to learn how to do this so you can increase your luck with an easy-to-follow routine and system I’ve used for the past 10+ years that has helped me become a lucky person, comment the word “ROUTINE” 💌 by @morgan.starr.riestis

These techniques might surprise you

But they’re ancient ways we’ve regulated our nervous systems because of the ways we’ve evolved..

1. Listening to birds sing — this regulates our nervous systems because it taps into a primal indicator that we’re safe. Since birds don’t sing when predators are around our nervous systems have learned over thousands of years of evolution to pair bird song with times that we can relax because there isn’t danger around.

2. Passing soil back and forth between your hands — this works because exposure to a bacterium in soil (Mycobacterium vaccae) produces serotonin in your brain. This helps reduce stress and make you feel happier. What a beautifully ancient love story between the human body and soil.
