โœจ lumen printing on the waters edge I started October in residence at @gibraltarpointto with a group of brilliant artists. Iโ€™m excited by the colours and textures that come from the lake water, pebbles, moss and sand. still sifting through material and ready to start some print tests to play with scale and transparency. thx to @lesiagm for letting me play with all your paper types and being the best Scorpio encouragement!! #lumenprint by @morgan__elena

three works from my series ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ are in the exhibition โ€œMaking Kin at the End of the Worldโ€ at @accessgallery Surrounding Hanlanโ€™s Point Beach on Toronto islands is an intricate web of cruising paths safely hidden by the bushes and trees, where queers meet and desires collide. The film negatives are buried in the sand, and pieces of lost emulsion negate understanding and refuse the entirety of the representational image. Through a lens of queer ecology, ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ speaks to the multiple social urgencies of the site: the erosion of the beach coupled with the precarity of queer spaces. โ„น๏ธ about โ€œMaking Kin at the End of the Worldโ€: โ€œIn a time shaped by technological upheaval, climate change, political oppression, displacement, and mass extinction, how do we reconnect and form relationships beyond difference? How might we imagine new forms of kinshipโ€”with one another, our communities, and the more-than-human world?โ€ these works are 10โ€ x 10โ€ and mounted on alupanel, ready to be easily installed into your home, space or office. ๐Ÿ’Œ DM me for more info if youโ€™re interested. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Exhibition is open from October 12th - November 8th 2026 by @morgan__elena

๐ŸŒ€ Fall 2026 Artist Spotlight: Morgan Sears-Williams โœจ Interdisciplinary artist and cultivator ๐Œ๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐š๐ง ๐’๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ฌ-๐–๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ฆ๐ฌ is taking over our South Facade Billboard this fall with the image work ๐’‡๐’†๐’†๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’‚๐’๐’๐’๐’ˆ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’†๐’…๐’ˆ๐’†๐’”. Composed of several 16mm film strips collated into one frame, the work captures Hanlanโ€™s Point Beach, a site of queer community and refuge. Morganโ€™s practice explores queer feminist histories, both personal and political, and examines broader structures of power and oppression through alternative processes and experimental film. Challenging traditional approaches to analog film, her work reflects on contemporary image-making. She has exhibited across Turtle Island and internationally, including at @ArsenalContemporary, @ContemporaryCalgary, @G44Photo and @AlchemyFilmAndArts Festival. She has also received grants from the @BCArtsCouncil, @OntarioArtsCouncil and @Canada.Council for the Arts. Be sure to check out Morganโ€™s work on our South Facade Billboard at the Opening Reception next Friday! ๐Ÿ”— Learn more at the link in bio. Images: 1. Portrait of Morgan Sears-Williams. some favourite lumen prints of the summer as the garden starts to go into hibernation, iโ€™m reflecting on how itโ€™s influenced my art practice this past summer. iโ€™ve had so many moments witnessing life, death and rebirth. moments of wonder, surprise and crushing disappointment. reminders that things must shed in order to regrow. reminders that death and rot is a natural and sacred process. moments and reminders have been a mirror to me this year. these lumen prints are a little document to these thoughts. poppy leaves too delicate for vancouver rain, green tomatoes with bottom rot, moulding tomato leaves, giant zucchini, and aphid attracting nasturtium. enjoy ๐Ÿ’— #lumenprint by @morgan__elena

โœจ watch the magic moment from unfixed to fixed lumen print. I donโ€™t usually fix my lumen prints since I love the original tones the paper brings, but itโ€™s always good to see what it looks like fixed. This one surprised me since it still kept some pinks and blues + added some golden yellows. had so much fun sharing the magic of lumen prints with artist in residence @nice.loop at @the_blue_cabin artist residency ๐Ÿ’— so grateful for this opportunity to mentor (but really, I learn so much from Rea each visit) and create together. extra shoutout to @katrinasarah for the brilliant idea to do this eco process residency! made with flic film RC glossy paper #lumenprint by @morgan__elena
