POSTS STORIES REELS

This new piece entitled “Watch Over Me” is currently available at @artagallery

Sometimes, I enjoy going through older photoshoots I have done with a fresh set of eyes to see if a particular image I may have missed before stands out … asking to be made into one of my mixed media pieces.

This particular image was from a series I shot at my good friends’ studio @jandj_photo_art when they still lived in Toronto.

Fun fact .. the J’s (Jeff and Jane) who now live in Hamilton and themselves are wonderful artists also do all my printing for me.

A Peak Behind The Curtain ✨

There is a lot that happens behind the scenes when creating one of my pieces. I’m always shooting new material and setting up tea parties in unlikely places to photograph. Sometimes with Ballerinas and sometimes without. Once I’ve selected an image, then the creative process of adding animals and other whimsical elements in Photoshop begins.
I also build all my own Baltic Birch wood panels and Ash floating frames.

Here is one of the new pieces “By Your Side” I’ll be showcasing at this year’s One of a Kind Show, where I’ll be in Booth G-04
Come join the Tea 🍵 Party 🎈

Fresh of the presses!
“Let Them Eat Cake” 🎂

This piece measures 38” x 38”
and is the newest addition
in my “Masked” series.

This piece was shot in an old abandoned farmhouse just outside of Goderich, Ontario.

A little behind-the-scenes at what’s taking shape in the gallery… 👀✨

This whimsical piece by our artist Morgan Jones, featuring a charming cast of animals gathered by the window, is one of the many special works you’ll discover in our upcoming show, 'The View Outside Your Window'! 🥳

Come by this September and see what’s waiting on the other side of the window. 🪟🎨

A little bit of exciting news — you can now find a selection of my work at the Art Gallery of Burlington! Very happy to be included and in good company, with Lora Moore and I now neighbours. 🤍

This is a “soft launch” for summer, with larger works coming in early September!

Last night we honoured Patrick in the best way we could- with his art, some words, glasses raised, so much laughter as we swapped Skals stories, and a whole lot of tears.

A huge thank you to @artagallery for generously offering their space so we could host this Celebration of Life. Through the struggle of losing him, being able to connect with his circles has been so beautiful.

“And for losing you
This grief, yes, we’ll pay a high price-
But for the joy of having known you;
It’s a small sacrifice” by @morganjonesart

Two shows. Two cities. One hectic adventure.

It pushed me more than I expected.
But somewhere in the chaos—new connections, new collectors, and moments that mattered.

Grateful to The Other Art Fair for two beautifully run, well-attended shows.
And grateful for the people I got to share it with.

Back home, inspired.

I’m heading back to Chicago.

The Other Art Fair has always felt like one of those places where the work finds the right people… so I’m bringing some new stories with me.

Built in the studio. Layer by layer. A little chaos behind the scenes… and then something quiet and complete at the end of it.

If you’re in Chicago, come find me. I’d love to see some familiar faces and meet a few new ones.

Patrick had four seasons.

To know him was to know that each season was uniquely beautiful in its own way.

Winter brought courage, resilience, and a vulnerability that allowed Patrick to lean on his community. A season of introspection… of quiet strength, and a fierce determination to find his way back to spring.

Spring was something special to witness. It brought hope — the return of laughter, a renewed energy, a creative spark slowly catching, and the return of that familiar twinkle in Patrick’s eye.

Summer brought it all — boundless drive, humour, endless ideas, incredible new work, and an excitement for life that was truly infectious. Many of you got to spend some time with summer Patrick these past few months… and what a glorious summer it was for Patrick this time.

Fall carried a quiet awareness — a stoicism as Patrick began to brace for the return of winter. It brought a rallying of community, a gathering of the people Patrick loved, knowing he would soon need them to see him through.

Patrick, you left us in your winter.

And I can’t help but wish we’d had just a little more time… one more spring, one more summer, one more moment of that light you carried so effortlessly.

Wherever you are now, I hope it’s a warm, endless summer day —
full of light, creativity, and peace.

You were deeply loved in all of your seasons my friend. by @morganjonesart

✨ARTIST FEATURE
MORGAN JONES @morganjonesart

Morgan is a mixed-media artist living and working in Hamilton. In 2013, Jones decided to pursue his lifelong passion, leaving his corporate job as the Director of Sales for a large consumer electronics manufacturer to launch a full-time career as a professional artist. Today, Morgan is represented by several galleries and his works are collected both nationally and internationally.

Jones likes to explore the whimsical side of life through his art. Each of his pieces starts as an idea. That idea is then brought to life through photography and various mixed-media embellishments.

Jones’s images are often staged, incorporating props, lighting and various theatrical components. Continually looking to incorporate new ideas and mediums, he follows a multi-step process when creating his artwork. With a keen eye for texture, design and composition, coupled with a whimsical flare, he creates works of art that are both melancholic and hopeful. They invite the viewer to pull up a chair, pour a cup of tea and join in.

How cool is that!

SOCIAL SPACE is VERY excited to feature a collection of Jone's animal + ballerina series at PJKJ Law in their newly renovated Wurk Sp_ce Offices at 108 John Street, North, Hamilton.

It’s opening day here at @ooak_toronto and I have to say, in my 10 years of doing this show this is the nicest I have ever seen the show look. They even have a merry-go-round!!

Happy 50th One of a Kind!! 🎉 by @morganjonesart

Setting up for the @ooak_toronto isn’t for the faint of heart! Woke up at 5 AM and drove to Toronto. Starbucks was closed temporarily so I was raw dogg’n setup with no coffee.
You have a plan but it usually changes on the fly which mine did. Finished setting up at 5:00 PM and battled traffic driving back to the Hammer so I could relax for a few hours.
See you Thursday for opening day! by @morganjonesart
