For 30 years, Morningside Music Bridge has brought together extraordinary young musicians from around the world, creating connections and experiences that last far beyond the summer.

To celebrate our 30th anniversary, MMB alumni share their experiences and reflect on where their musical journeys have taken them.

Thank you to our alumni, faculty, supporters, and the entire MMB community for being part of 30 remarkable years — and for helping shape the next generation of young musicians.

This past May, MMB travelled to Zimbabwe with four MMB alumni for two weeks of music-making, teaching, and exchange with local music communities.

Filmmaker and director @emilthedirector joined us to capture the journey. In this short introduction, Emil shares the story behind MMB on Tour in Zimbabwe: The Series — documenting the people, music, and experiences that shaped our time there.

Episode 1 is now available. Watch it through the link in our bio.

Concert in the spectacular Igloo Church. ⛪️💙

Featuring a few excerpts (the first of which was improvised) from our first performance of ‘The Road To Wesleyville’, composed by my dear friend @wesleyhardistymusic and arranged by northern artist/composer extraordinaire Carmen Braden @blackicesounds. A full recording shall be posted soon:) This work represents a beautiful collaboration between traditional fiddle and Western classical styles, with tunes written by Wesley arranged by Carmen to fit within the context of a piano quintet.
It was such a rewarding experience to be immersed in a completely new and deeply complex musical world. The mental architecture which is constructed in a musical tradition passed down aurally and predominantly improvised around a structure is astounding- I witnessed Wesley work through a 15-minute piece several times and promptly abandon the sheet music because he already had the entire thing memorized😍🔥

Thank you so much to the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre and Morningside Music Bridge for making this possible!
