This Valentine’s Day, I’m joining @noprideingenocide_ to demand that queer and trans orgs like @glaad, @glsen, @humanrightscampaign, @pflag, and @trevorproject break up with genocide and support the fight for Palestinian Liberation.

$“For a fraction of a second, their eyes met; Gayemon’s smoldering yellow gaze made Sance melt into a blissful abyss. He spilled his beeswax crayons on a fallen tree with a sob. All Sance could see and hear had gone blank; all he felt was Gayemon’s mouth as it sucked every last drop of vitality from Sance’s heart.” -Mont Chauve par Nuit, a gothic fanfic of mont royal x night by @morsefaaks$

I’ve joined w 3k+ Queer artists, performers and cultural workers in solidarity with Palestinians demanding an immediate ceasefire and end to years of occupation and violence. Enough is enough. Not in my name!
“We will continue to speak out for Palestine, to educate ourselves, and to uplift Palestinian voices. Our queerness, and our humanity, demand that we do so.”

As we lead up to the opening reception of BODYFLUID, here’s a peek at some of the work.

@morsefaaks Night Fagrance arouses memories of a steamy locker room, a summer fling’s closet full of boy-odour, a night drive back from the club, sweaty. Dangling from a charm-chain sculpture with goth gay key charms, this custom freshener depicts a tower, like the Tarot arcana, or a smoke-sparkled castle; are these ruins on fire? “Black Ice” scented—Night Fagrance returns memories of your hockey crush’s deodorant spray, hides pungent fag (cigarette) smell, cleaves to hot sweat, or swings like a little tree from a rear-view mirror—fagged up

Orchid is excited to present BODYFLUID, a group exhibition by members of the multi artist collaboration QueerSoftOrange opening Saturday August 15th, 2-5PM. The exhibition will run until August 29th, DM for address.

BODYFLUID is a hot late summer exhibition at Orchid Contemporary, bringing together QueerSoftOrange collective members’ works into heated contact and dialogue. BODYFLUID absorbs the fluids that permeate our queer bodies, the fluidity of our desires, and the messiness of body politics. BODYFLUID embodies the burning friction of QSO’s thirst to hold each other, to feel good forever, and to maintain queer communal feelings across body, space, and time. BODYFLUID flags the orange hanky code signaling “anything, anytime” or “nothing now, just cruising”. Playing in the languid days of summer, hot and idle, QSO reflects on the shimmer of a heat wave, or the sweet rush of lust as the unwavering sun transitions into dampening August night, dripping sweat.

Featuring works by: Maddie Alexander, Dana Buzzee, Adrien Crossman, Jane Foley, Morris Fox, Luke Maddaford, Tyler Matheson, and Sheri Osden Nault.

We hope to see you there! 💦

@QueerSoftOrange is a queer and trans-national multi-artist collective born out of a shared desire for connection, community, and collaboration.

Super stoked to be part of this fantastic curatorial exhibition featuring my scanner obscura “timber cruising” of Hanlan’s Point Beach Sex paths and my quilts mapping sites of haunting and desire.

Exhibition opens on the 29th of May at the ArQuives. I’ll be there so come say hello!

Curated by McKenna Gray and the ArQuives team
Featuring Morgan Sears-Williams, Patrick Stochmal, and of course ME! 💋✨ by @morsefaaks

Machinima playing around with dynamic screencapture movement for my machinima work on gothy fantasies of cruising sites (this one specifically Parc Mont Royal/Tekanontak)
#mtlartist #machinima #imvu by @morsefaaks

I extend my creative research of queer sites into machinima (animation produced in digital platforms like SecondLife, or here IMVU). In this vr patchwork of digital assets, I’ve recreated a simulation of Hanlan’s Point Beach as a queer gothic fantasy space—hauntland’s point. Using VR social space allows me to re-enact and create new meanings for a site of memory, haunting, and loss (and pleasure of course). by @morsefaaks

In my current creative research, I am creating a gothic fantasy of Hanlan’s Point Beach, an important queer space with many layers of history and intervention on Mnisiing, or Toronto Islands, as a “geographical palimpsest” of lost futures. Pictured here are my illustrator vector map drawn from both unrealized urban plans for the island, and historical maps of its shifting shoreline. These drawings will be turned into digital embroidery patterns which will be added to my current patchwork quilts.

Part of my PhD research-creation around how we feel queerly and respond aesthetically to ecological mourning. Stay tuned for the further completed works. by @morsefaaks

using chainmail to rust dye flower field of pansies for the backs of me quilts that will be up in a queer ecologies show in TO this pride. Some questions I asked in this process of commemorative textiles: What does it mean to rot and decay yet leave an impression? What dies and dyes to entertain? How can a troubled past change our present course through feeling it? by @morsefaaks
