“Action is a highroad to self-confidence and esteem. Where it is open, all energies flow toward it. It comes readily to most people, and its rewards are tangible.” — @brucelee The beginning of a run is usually the hardest part. Getting out the door, warming up the body, overcoming the desire to stop and go back home. But something mysterious happens when you get past that stage, you start to flow. Your legs turnover smoothly, your breathing has its own cadence, your senses are heightened. You have full control of your mind, body, and emotions. Some call it the runner’s high, I call it freedom. Running “comes readily to most people, and its rewards are tangible.” It is an easy way to unlock our full potential. This is what I want the next generation of Chinatown to experience. Thank you for helping me bring my vision to reality: @amgracelee @graceleefornyc for joining us once again to kickoff the event, run with us, and present medals. Tat Wan, 2x winner of the Chinatown Mini-Marathon in 1977 and 1978 for sharing some history with us and presenting medals. @runcoachkai for emceeing the show and getting everything done smoothly. @marcolawrenceillustration for providing us with visual inspiration with the beautiful event graphic and medal design. Chinatown Block Watch for controlling the traffic at the start and finish. @lululemon Soho, @michelelyn3, @elitefeats @transfigurationchurchnyc, @ny.chinesefreemasons, @newkamhing and the Lee Family Association for supporting in many different ways. Photographers and volunteers, especially course marshals for keeping runners safe. BIG thank you to the event captains for planning the event over the past few months.  And of course to the participants, parents, and families for making this a true community event. 📸 @chinatownvibes (1), @drookoo (2–12) #chinatown #runforchinatown #mottstreetmile by @mottstreetmile
I was honored to join @runforchinatown at the historic Mott St Mile alongside hundreds of community members. I proudly presented medals to the winners with Tat Wan who won the original Chinatown Mini Marathon back in 1977 and 1978. It’s great to see @misturlee honoring the history of this race while raising funds to support Chinatown seniors and youth. by @mottstreetmile

1 mile. Pure Chinatown energy 🔥 A historic morning on Mott Street, reviving the spirit of the 1970s Chinatown Mini-Marathon, and bringing that competitive excitement back to our streets! 🎥 @its_silverlicious #chinatown #runforchinatown #mottstreetmile by @mottstreetmile
PS 124 students from 3K-5th grade showed up at this morning’s @mottstreetmile to represent our school! The Kid’s Dash was so much fun and it was heartwarming to see our kids and families support the Chinatown community. One of our students even won a medal! Three years ago, we messaged @runforchinatown to let them know that we have a thriving run club at PS124. Last year, we kicked off our first year of collaboration. @misturlee @runcoachkai and @susanleenyc turned a recreational club into a running education experience for the next generation of Chinatown kids. Thanks for all that you do for the community and we can’t wait to run again next year! by @mottstreetmile
Hello runners! The 2026 Mott Street Mile is almost here. The forecast for tomorrow morning shows cloudy skies, temperature hovering around 55°, and a chance of light rain. In case you’re wondering, the event will go on rain or shine. Here’s what else you need to know: • The HQ opens at 7:00 am and is located at 29 Mott St. This is where you’ll find bib pickup, bag check, and restrooms. • ALL participants for the 1-mile race and the kids dash need to check in at the HQ. 1-mile participants, have your bib number ready, which you should have received by email or text message from elitefeats today. Kids dash participants just need to provide their names • Once you’re done checking in, you’ll exit the HQ and gather on the street to wait until the start of the race. This would be a good time to warm up and chat with other runners. The start line is at 46 Mott St. • Followed by opening remarks, the 1-mile race will start shortly after 8:00 am. • Remember that this is an unsanctioned race, which means that not all parts of the course are closed to traffic. There will be volunteers throughout the route to help keep the course as clear as possible. Please run on the street and NOT on the sidewalk unless you feel it is necessary to do so for your safety. • There will be a lead bike to guide the front of the pack, a middle bike to guide the middle, and a sweeper bike to follow the back. • Once you cross the finish line, we would appreciate you sticking around for the kids dash that will start after the 1-mile race. • If you need to access the HQ immediately after finishing, it will be open for you to access bag check and restrooms. • The kids dash will start at approximately 8:20 am. Award ceremonies will commence after the kids dash is finished. • Familiarize yourself with the course map, which can be found towards the bottom of the registration page. Enjoy your evening, and see you tomorrow. It’s going to be a historic day in Chinatown. #chinatown #chinatownnyc #runforchinatown #mottstreetmile by @mottstreetmile
