Both of our 2027 women’s Japan ski trips are officially sold out. 🤍⭐️

Mountain Nomad started with wanting to share two parts of my life: skiing and Japan. Now there are two groups of women making plans to experience them with us, and it’s starting to feel very real!

To everyone who booked, thank you for trusting us with your time, your money, and a trip you’ve been dreaming about. I’m so excited to meet you and share these places with you. 🌸⭐️

And to everyone who shared a post, told a friend, or took the time to chat with me, thank you for helping this little business grow.🤍

Keep an eye out for more opportunities with us, we can get you to Japan! 🇯🇵🤍

I often tell people,

Being half Japanese staying in Japan at least month plus every year since I was 0 years old,

That I find myself as a cultural bridge.

Having the empathy to understand both sides,

The struggles and joys of the tourist and the local,

Maybe I was put on this earth,

To bring people together,

To create connections and be a positive impact,

To spread joy and love, no matter your background.

Mountain Nomad focuses on these values.

My trips to Japan are a reflection of myself,

Which is why I put the upmost care into everything.

So both sides and come together and experience love 🤍⭐️ by @mountainnomadjp

Still thinking about the @westerncoloradouniversity trip to Japan 🤍

As an alum, I felt honored to take @western_envs out to Japan for their first time, with guiding provided through @niseko_zen and lodging by @mtnmemories
With traditions, cultural immersion, guest speakers, and a whole lot of snow, students were able to foster and celebrate sustainable tourism.

JAPAN THROUGH FOOD 🤍🌸

Food is such an important part of my life. Food leads to connection, culture, history, and a full belly!

In a world where food can be a scarce and sacred commodity, I uphold each meal to the highest reset and gratuity. Every bite holds intention 🌸🤍

I may have to make a part 2 of this, since I have so much more to share! Let me know in the comments what Japanese foods you want to try! 🤍

What if your ski trip could be about more than just the skiing?

With Mountain Nomad, Hannah Mech is creating thoughtful ski and cultural trips that offer a deeper way to experience Japan.

We had the opportunity to support Hannah as she prepared to launch Mountain Nomad’s very first trip, and it’s been incredible watching her turn her vision into reality.

Growing up between Japanese and American cultures inspired Hannah to create experiences that help people see Japan beyond the typical tourist path. And with a background in ski mountaineering racing, backcountry skiing, avalanche education, and business, she’s uniquely suited to bring those experiences to life.

Through Mountain Nomad, Hannah partners with local businesses and communities to create thoughtful ski adventures that bring together incredible skiing, local food, culture, and connection, while leaving a positive impact on both travelers and the places they explore.

This winter, Hannah will be based in Hokkaido, working with Niseko Zen and hosting advanced women’s ski trips for guests from around the world.

The stoke is high and spots are filling up fast. If skiing Japan has been on your adventure list, send Hannah a DM at @mountainnomadjp and snag a spot on one of her trips! by @mountainnomadjp

CHABACCO

My first take at this vending machine tucked away in Takadanobaba station thought it was for cigarettes. When you look closer, it’s actually tea

Tobacco (タバコ) + Ochya (お茶) = CHABACCO (茶バコ)
