Absolutely — these photos tell a great late-season pollinator garden story. Here’s a Facebook-ready version: 🍂🐝 Fall is arriving at the Mount Holly Pollinator Garden! 🦋🌸 A huge THANK YOU to all of our wonderful volunteers who continue to give their time, energy, and care to the Pollinator Garden. The group photo captures just a few of the people who help make this special place possible. Every hour spent planting, weeding, watering and caring for the garden helps create habitat for an amazing variety of wildlife. And the garden is definitely still busy! These photos capture some of our late-season visitors enjoying the brilliant blooms — including a grasshopper and some impressive native bees. Perhaps most exciting are the caterpillars preparing for the seasonal transition. 🐛🦋 The striped caterpillar is a monarch, a wonderful reminder of why milkweed and pesticide-free habitat are so important. The orange-and-black caterpillar is another butterfly caterpillar making use of the garden as both a nursery and a food source. As the garden moves from summer into fall, it may look a little less manicured — and that’s intentional. Leaving stems, seed heads and some plant material standing provides food, shelter and overwintering habitat for insects and other wildlife. What may look “finished” to us can still be incredibly valuable to them. Thank you to everyone who helps make the Mount Holly Pollinator Garden a place where people can enjoy nature — and where pollinators can eat, grow, reproduce and complete their life cycles. 💚 Happy Fall from the Pollinator Garden! 🍁🐝🦋🐛 #MountHollyPollinatorGarden #PollinatorGarden #MonarchButterfly #NativeBees @mounthollyfoundation by @mounthollyfoundation
