Moverest Challenge – Day 1!

And we’re off! A few laps of the Med Steps to get moving, breathe in the fresh air and kick-start the challenge! 💪
It was lovely to be joined by some familiar faces on today’s kick off!
Mental health matters. Movement helps reduce stress, lift our mood and remind us that looking after our minds is just as important as looking after our bodies.

Let’s keep moving, keep supporting each other and make every step count! 💚

To start the journey, we’re inviting everyone to join us on our first climb on 1st November at 11:00am.
For a £5 donation, you can be part of the challenge, with every penny going towards supporting GibSams and helping them continue the vital work they do in our community.
Whether you’re a regular hiker, fitness enthusiast, or simply want to support a great cause, come and be part of it. Let’s take the first steps together and make a difference for mental health.
Every step counts. Every mind matters by @movember_gibraltar

This November, 15 lads are taking on a challenge for Movember to raise money for GibSams.

Movember is all about men’s health, raising awareness of mental health and suicide prevention, as well as prostate and testicular cancer. It’s a reminder that it’s okay to speak up, check in on your mates and ask for help when you need it.

GibSams does fantastic work in Gibraltar, providing a free, confidential listening service for anyone going through a difficult time, feeling alone or struggling with their mental health. Sometimes, having someone there to listen can make all the difference.

To support this, we’ll each be climbing the Mediterranean Steps throughout November, aiming to reach 8,848.86 metres the exact height of Mount Everest. That’s around 37 climbs of the Med Steps each.

It’s going to be a tough challenge, but it’s for a cause that really matters.

Any donations, no matter how big or small, would be massively appreciated and will help support the work GibSams does in our community. If you can’t donate, sharing this post would mean a lot too.

Look after your mates, check in on each other, and remember that it’s always okay to talk.

Thanks to everyone for the support. 💙

Back for round two of Movember! From 5 to 11 strong, our team has doubled in size and dedication. This November, we’re taking the plunge with daily cold-water dips, plus each of us is committing to 60km of cycling or running to honor the 60 men lost to suicide every hour. Cheers to raising awareness, growing mustaches, and making a difference.

In addition to this, we also have some men who aren’t in Gibraltar but are supporting from abroad, big shoutout to @ramennoodlerobbie and his icebath in the freezing UK and @pjmcelwee all the way from Australia who is going to be supporting the cause too.
Please donate using link in bio❤️🙏🏼

We have exceeded our expectations by a mile with the amount we have raised. Thank you all for the donations❤️ £4083 going to a good cause. If you haven’t already donated the link is in our bio for any last minute donations. In the second pic you can see we are also almost at our intended target of 100km each. It hasn’t been easy to fit in so much in such busy schedules but it’s totally worth it.
