“As a ballet school director, I truly believe that one of the most important and valuable movements in ballet is the plié.

Plié is not just a basic bend of the knees - it is the foundation of proper technique and a vital “breathing” tool in our art form. 😮‍💨

It provides the necessary suspension 🚘 , allowing dancers to move with grace, control, and strength. 🩰

Moreover, a well-executed plié helps dancers avoid injuries and enhances the quality of every movement. 💪

Unfortunately, it is often overlooked or executed incorrectly, which can hinder progress and safety. I encourage all ballet students to give plié the attention it deserves, as it truly is the cornerstone of a strong, healthy ballet technique. “

Meet Roman (@mr.bafi), NKBS Graduate & Bursary Student 💫🎓

We couldn’t be prouder of Roman, one of our talented bursary students and recent NKBS graduates, who is now continuing his training at the prestigious Central School of Ballet.

Roman returned to the NKBS stage for our “Around the World” performances this summer, and it was truly inspiring to see how far he’s come. From his first classes with us to now dancing with strength, artistry, and passion, his journey is a true testament to dedication and hard work.

It’s been an honour to support Roman through our Bursary Programme, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!🌟
