For the past two years, I’ve been quietly developing a book centred around a mysterious royal family living in the Scottish Highlands.

Finding time to write and illustrate it is often a challenge with the business, but this afternoon I’ve been immersed in developing the map of the fictional royal estate.

There’s something wonderfully meditative about bringing an imaginary world to life, one intricate detail at a time. A rare opportunity to slow down, escape the everyday, and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating something entirely from the imagination!

I chatted with @youtube about another Horror Classic 🍿🎥 In 2007, Paranormal Activity redefined cinematic terror. With its unsettling realism, minimalist production and ingenious use of the found-footage format, it demonstrated that what we cannot see is often far more frightening than what we can.

We still remember just how terrifying that first viewing was.

Nearly two decades later, we contacted Micah Sloat, who starred in the original film, to discover whether he had retained any artefacts from the production.

Remarkably, he had — and we were fortunate enough to acquire one of his original screen-worn T-shirts, directly from the actor himself.

An extraordinary piece of modern horror cinema history, with provenance tracing directly back to the person who wore it on screen.

Sometimes, the most unassuming objects carry the most compelling cinematic stories.

I chatted to @spotifypodcasts and @youtube about bidding on this remarkable artefact from one of the scariest films of the century 🎥

Few films redefined independent horror quite like The Blair Witch Project (1999). One of its most recognisable pieces of screen-worn memorabilia is the iconic hat worn by Heather Donahue as Heather in the film.

At @moviemaniaonline we take a closer look at this remarkable piece of film history and share our own story of bidding on this fascinating artefact.

🎙️ The full interview will feature in an upcoming episode of Cinema Bits, the podcast from MovieManiaOnline, where we explore the stories, secrets and extraordinary artefacts behind the movies we love.

The first of the spooky season features for @youtube and @spotifyuk 🎃

In 1996, Scream transformed the Ghostface mask from a simple Halloween novelty into an enduring symbol of modern horror. But what happened to the original masks created for Wes Craven’s iconic film?

In this short feature, I take a closer look at the history of the original Ghostface masks used during the making of Scream — from their production and use on screen to what became of these fascinating pieces of horror history.

For collectors, the story behind the prop can be every bit as intriguing as the film itself.

Tea, cake and a little Victorian grandeur. ☕️🍰

A yearly visit to the @marineandlawn in North Berwick — and, as ever, it doesn’t disappoint. I’ve always been rather partial to grand Victorian architecture, particularly when it comes with a healthy dose of the whimsical; and this place manages to blend it beautifully with those wonderfully nostalgic touches of 20th-century Scottish golf and coastal life.

There’s something wonderfully unhurried about sitting here with a pot of tea, surrounded by all that sumptuous character and history. A little old-world glamour, a little seaside nostalgia… and, naturally, an entirely sensible amount of cake.

Some traditions are worth keeping. 🏌️‍♂️🌊

One of those moments at York Comic Con today that makes you remember exactly why you fall in love with films in the first place. ❤️

Standing next to a movie-accurate replica DeLorean from Back to the Future was pretty special. There’s something about seeing an iconic movie car in person that photographs just don’t quite capture.

I’ve always loved the idea that the films we grow up watching can become part of our own lives — and moments like this are a pretty good reminder of why I ended up so fascinated by movie memorabilia in the first place. 🎬

Now… where did I leave that flux capacitor? 🚗💨
